How much should we charge businesses for advertising space in our magazines? What helps us to determine a fair price? Please consider making a video about this. Thanks for sharing. I’m a new subscriber.🤗

Hi Laurice, thank you for the question. I will make a video in the future breaking it down how to determine ad prices.

Thank you!! Women helping women!! This is my main goal in starting my own mag. Here's a question for you... did you start aiming at a local level or did you start yours for anyone anywhere? I'm getting told I should begin with local advertisers and aim at local readership and it isn't totally sitting well with me. I'm in SC, I want to start a mag for women over 30, BY women, dealing with issues women face BEYOND makeup and fashion.

Hi Jill, if your magazine is available globally, the ads should be as well. Who’s telling you to start local?
@soulywomen3 жыл бұрын
@@JenDeVoreRichter hi!! Well my mag is still in my head, lol, I'm just getting started on making it happen! I actually work at a local newspaper and have within my reach (figuratively) a printer, graphics person, writer, and sales person who has a huge clientele. He is the one who said I should begin with a local mag and utilize his advertisers that he's made relationships with over the years...but my vision isn't just Sumter, SC...its all women, anywhere. So I was curious if that was something you've heard and done or if you've put it out there for all to have access to. I want print and digital, and to flesh out my market plan for revenue on the two.

@@soulywomen I did not start local because my vision was not local, like you. Go with your vision starting with the revenue plan first: advertisers are just one way to make money. There is also membership programs, events and speaking, affiliate sales, brand deals, coaching, physical products and merch, and more.

@@JenDeVoreRichter I appreciate that very much. I have a broader vision, and am not at all against local, but do not want to stop there. I'd like to grow it as far as I can reach, and just need to do my research and due diligence in learning the course in doing so. You've got wonderful information here, and I can't wait to see more of your material!!

Jen, should I get both Issuu and Magmanager or can I use just one?
@JenDeVoreRichter Жыл бұрын
MagManager has more features than ISSUU and is primarily used to plan and manage your flat plan. It also will give you a flipbook version of the PDF of your final magazine. If you’re selling lots of ads it’s great! If you’re not, then it’s probably too much. ISSUU only takes a PDF and turns it into a flipbook. It doesn’t help you manage ad sales or your flat plan. They’re both great, but have different purposes depending on the stage you’re in and what you need.
