Absolutely amazing product review! I love how you showed different types of blankets, the subtleties in print quality and what artwork types (digital, watercolor, etc) could suit each blanket the best. I also loved how you pointed out the difference in feel of the fleece blanket and even provided other possible uses. This is exactly the video I was looking for. Again, thank you so much for sharing this! 🙌🙌🙌

Thank you so much for this video! I know this is a year late haha but I've been looking into comparing POD blankets and my god there's barely any videos on it. Seeing this especially with your prints on it has been incredibly helpful

Ty for the informal videos!!! Do you do tutorial videos? If so, Can you do one using canva or even Kittl if possible. Bc a lot of us don’t use photoshop, adobe, ect. I guess we could use Photopea (free) with a step by step tutorial but with POD to Etsy we use a lot of Canva and images from CF. Like you said getting the sizes to be large enough when printed. There is a group of us looking on how to make personalized blankets and having issues getting them to size up, move elements or how to make personalized. Making a templet that allows us to move elements and personalize when an order comes in. We are new to the game and not many videos that show us anything besides repeating patterns. Ty so much in advance!!

I need to put together some ideas for creating the large files needed for blankets. I use Photoshop, but I know not everyone has access to it. Thanks for watching and the feedback!

@@QuirkyNeighbor thank you so much!! Most of use canva or kittl -I know Photopea or Pixlr has some free options. Can you help me with something while we wait-do you know how or where we can make a word cloud blanket and upload it to a file so we sale on Etsy? I have several pictures but idk how to send them to you. But some are repeating names in random order, some are multiple fonts and colors which you could do in CF but it only allows one font at a time. There’s too many competition with others and they are cheap? Must be using a cheaper print fullfillment company other than printful or printify. Others are the blankets that’s that have names in every way/font/color and the last is personalized ones that has a name, birthday, weight, ect. If you have a way I can send you or e-mail photos I will so you understand. I found one video that allowed multiple names, words, fonts but she was making it for DTF sheet-idk if I can create there and upload the file? She took it to 3 sites one you had to pay but when a person asked her why she did that she said to enlarge file.

@@QuirkyNeighbor also I am so happy you are doing great video reviews! I didn’t know which ones were best to try (I am 100% new to POD) I’m a nurse 😅 a single mom trying to help with finances, but I am giving myself anxiety trying to learn all of this vis you tube and then not having anyone to ask or call for help. I do believe the generator she used was word font? And she downloaded a square to put it in so she could make it for a blanket but like I said she wasn’t POD. I’m afraid to try her steps then it looks right until a person orders it 🥴 and with canva you can only go 5000x5000 which is fine I guess for a corner personalization blanket or maybe a middle design or monogram. One you tuber pulled a graphic from CF and uploaded to canva-BUT bc the file wasn’t a repeating one with all the steps to upload, bring back in and shrink it-duplicate, ect (even in that case it locks images) and hard to make a templet if you can’t move elements. But back to the one video where she used a graphic from CF she just put it in middle of blanket, used printifys pattern maker and it look hideous and then she had it do more of a corner and said we could use that and personalize it for a retired nurse (that’s what she used) and that was ok but it’s not anything I was trying to do. I want to make the all over name, color, fonts and also like a mile stone one but hard to get center image to enlarge enough. Anyway, if you have any sort of email I can send the pics to i will and if not I understand. Any videos I would appreciate and like I said I know multiple ppl who want to do this and watch your videos!! Thanks so much

Hi! Thank you for the video, really appreciate it. Wondering if I missed it but did you mention what POD Company you used to print each blanket?
@QuirkyNeighbor3 жыл бұрын
I realized after the fact that I didn't make it clear in the video and wound up putting it in the description later. Here's the info: - Printful: the one I call the Minky is their "Throw Blanket" - Printify: the sherpa style and the one I call the fleece blanket (it's the "Polyester Blanket" on their site) - Zazzle: the smaller baby blanket that I got as a comparison (affiliate link) www.zazzle.com/z/au2ve3jd?rf=238381629152247247 Glad you found it useful.

what program did you use to get the design size right for the blanket? Canvas wont let me design that big, but when I resize the design in photoshop it moves the desgin to much and cuts off my text.
@QuirkyNeighbor2 жыл бұрын
I use Adobe Photoshop without any problems. I create a new document with the final dimensions and then create the design instead of trying to resize after the fact.

Thank you for all your hard work!! I know I’m late but do you know of any printers who have 100% cotton blankets?… also your comment on using photoshop is so helpful. Illustrator makes me want to jump off a cliff. 🙄

Thank you for the video. Do you have any insight on the "hooded blankets" on Printify. Thank you...

Hi, I haven't tried those specific blankets. But I've noticed Printify has added several new styles and was thinking I need to get some additional samples. Thanks!
@amywalt20344 жыл бұрын
This was exactly what I was searching for. Thanks! Can you please tell me if the Minky is the same as the Printify throw and if it washed and dried well? The Printify one is "new" and the supplier recommends hand wash. I don't think hand washing a blanket is practical.
@QuirkyNeighbor4 жыл бұрын
Hi, That's a good question. I've not yet purchased a sample of the new Printify Velveteen throw. But visually, at least, it looks identical to the Printful option (the one I call the Minky) and is the same fiber content. It washed and dried very nicely with no visible degradation in the print. I have noticed that the care instructions listed on the POD supplier sites don't always match what is on the tag when I get the actual item. So I would reserve judgment until I got an actual sample. But I agree: hand washing is not practical for a blanket! Thanks for watching, Kris

how do i create a blanket? I use canva and no matter what i do it always uploads as low resoluion
@QuirkyNeighbor2 жыл бұрын
From what I see in the documentation for Canva, I don't think they support files that are as large as the POD suppliers require. It's one of the biggest challenges when designing for blankets. I use Adobe Photoshop, but it can be pricey. You might consider one of the Affinity products - either Photo or Designer. You do have to pay for them, but it's a one-time payment instead of the monthly fee for Adobe. I've only played around with the iPad version a little (it's also available for Windows and macOS for desktops), but I've seen other people create amazing designs with the Affinity products.

Great video! Just curious which blankets where from where? Im trying to see if its worth getting the printiful blanket
@QuirkyNeighbor4 жыл бұрын
Sorry - I realized I didn't provide those details in the video (I will add to the description). The sherpa style is from Printify as is the one I call the fleece blanket (it's the "Polyester Blanket" on their site). And the blanket I call the minky is the "Throw Blanket" from Printful.

Which company does the baby swaddle blankets?
@QuirkyNeighbor3 жыл бұрын
I just noticed that Gooten has a swaddle blanket. For no apparent reason, the blankets are under "Living Room" in their product catalog. They're 100% polyester jersey, and they have 2 different sizes. Hope that helps!
