I love Spoonflower, it’s been the only POD company that i’ve sold the most product. For me it’s not about the money, I’m just excited to know that people are out there making things with my artwork. Great video.

Totally agree! It's the only POD company that has worked well for me. I also love that it doesn't have to be about earning money, it can be for the joy of just seeing your art on fabric or wallpaper.

For me, money is important because I don’t have an income. I’m familiar with other POD’s so I know curbing your expectations is important, but anything I can earn is a plus in my case. Can I ask an approximation of how much you are earning on the platform?

Thank you for sharing ❤ your experience. I love your way of explaining- that’s why I love your videos 😊I am an artist just starting out on Spoonflower while I am still learning the world of digital art. For me it’s quite easy to navigate Spoonflower although I know I still have so much to learn!

It’s super interesting to hear about your experience with Spoonflower challenges over the past four years! They’ve always been really fun to participate in, but it’s true that the competition is quite steep with thousands of entries in every one. On that note, I’m actually happy about the changes Spoonflower is implementing to cut back on the number of designs in the marketplace. I think that it will hopefully really help with the difficulty you mentioned related to finding niche designs/the design library being difficult to navigate.

To be honest, I am happy with the reduction in designs too, but I know for some people it has really meant changing the way they work with Spoonflower, which has probably been challenging for them.

Thank you Mel for a clear presentation - we all need to understand the pros and cons. I too am just starting my SPD journey and uploaded my first design challenge - only 36 likes, but that's fine by me! The important point is, I started and gained experience along with it. I'm excited about the journey.

I had a deep sigh of regret, "shoulda, woulda, coulda", moment listening about the saturation. I've known about Spoonflower since 2008/9? I was studying Fashion design at the time. In 2015 I made the decision surface pattern design was something I wanted to do. Tiny Houses took off, as did our Tiny House following etc so that's the direction my life took until 2020. Well I am happy to report, I entered my very first Design Challenge last week! I have over 80 likes thus far, I have no idea if that's good or not in the scheme of things but I am happy with that number nonetheless. I also have no idea on votes as apparently we don't see the votes as we once did? I am just happy to have eyes on my design and will continue to add to some challenges and to also grow my catalogue of designs and collections. I've started, that's the main thing.

For me, spoonflower was a disappointment. I posted 1,200 designs six months ago and have only gotten $50 in commissions so far. I invested $900 in my designs, so it's a loss for me. But I'm lucky, I still have a six figure income with my design business elsewhere, so this one was definitely a loser and waste of time for me. Maybe one day I buy my own fabric printer, unfortunately their fabrics aren't worth the price for such low quality.
