This is SO beautiful. Thanks for posting. Are the plates etched (hard ground?soft ground?) or drypoint or solar printed? Are they from a photo or a drawing? I learned so much by watching your inking process! Thanks for any additional info you can offer. If you do another 2 plate video it would be so helpful to see the 2 plates side by side for at least 7 seconds. Thanks again!

Hi Cas, thanks for your question. Yes the plates are etched by hand with ferric chloride. They use a wide variety of acrylic resists rather than the traditional method. I transfer a drawing to the plate at the start of the process so I can get the reversal. Glad the inking up was helpful to you. I'll try to slow down a bit in my next video! Don't want to bore anyone by being overlong!

how your ink in the plate doesn't smudge? do you use aquatint to control the limit of the colors?? thanks, really good job

Hi Ghassane, thank you for your comment. Yes I do use aquatints on the plates. The colours blend together a little bit so there are no real hard edges to the colour areas - it's the etching that makes them look crisp. Hope that makes sense, Rebecca
