A truly outstanding and enjoyable piece to watch. I had to stop many times and back it up to look at the work, I found all these pieces extraordinary and some just really captivate me, hard to let each one pass. This medium is so warm and it's hard to think of another medium that translates so beautifully into form, it's almost like you can't go wrong, from pop art, to folk art to the finest etchings and tonal explorations. It feels so magical. I took a couple minutes to really study the faces in an etching plate hung on the wall in Rembrandt's house in Amsterdam. I counted the lines, I think there were 18 strokes on copper (i think ) used to create this mans face, and I counted them because there was full depth of character and form and expression and everything else that made it a masterpiece. 18 little lines and it captured the essence better than a photo. I don't recall seeing the print from it, but the plate alone was unforgettable. Something so direct when captured cleanly, the true art of making an impression, a mark, a form that digs in and is recognizable. This art is inspiring.
