Elvis loved Priscilla he was an adult no one was able to control him or tell him what to do otherwise he would have been forced to stop using drugs. Elvis had no problem to leave a woman behind and move on to the next one.

In the first place why she moved in to Elvis's house or place. What kind of arrangement was that. I don't think Elvis forced her or threatened her parents, confusing and she was always saying she was just 14 blah blah blah. It was not Elvis fault it's her parents. And Elvis might just get attracted to her but never found a love either.

Yeah the parents.. in the end it was their call right?

Priscilla had bad parents, Elvis was attracted to teenage girls. That's how that arrangement happened.

One of the books says her step father bought Elvis records and gave them to her so she was encouraged to be his fan as all part of that American family culture in Post war Germany.

Blah blah blah. There is a reason Lisa Marie did not want this movie made beyond wooden performances it paints Elvis as predator which he was not he was not bewitched with Priscilla’s resemblance to his mother beauty or demeanor the two had nothing in common and Elvis promised to marry her after they had sex which resulted in short and unhappy marriage. If he was such a controlling monster Priscilla had ample time ti leave and find someone compatible but she never left stayed and forced him to marry her. No one is bying Priscilla interpretation Read child bride “ that is the true version of what happened to Elvis. No reason to paint him as blue beard

Well Lisa Marie wasn't born. The movies based on her mother's book. I'm asking a question based on what's depicted in the film because I didn't know Elvis personally. Since you brought him up, how about the fact that she was a freshman in high school when they started dating? Good with that as well?
@cindybrock17055 ай бұрын
They weren’t dating they met, she was 16 which is of age before he asked to her to come to Graceland then he couldn’t get rid of her, she could have left anytime it was her choice to stay, she made Elvis look bad as she looked so innocent which she wasn’t

Yes she had ample time to leave but like in any toxic relationship( I even venture to say domestic abuse even if it is not physical) it’s easy to say “ well why doesn’t she just leave?” It’s often hard for men and women of a toxic relationship to leave because they have mixed feelings often of loving their partner or being afraid to leave we especially see this in “Hollywood relationships” when one partner has a higher status. I’m not defending Elvis or Pricilla because as said in the previous comment I didn’t know either of them personally and none of us were there in their private life but fact is we have only gotten the starlit version of Elvis’s life where he is typically a great protagonist however Elvis is not here to share his side of the story and Pricilla is for all we know Elvis could have been agreeing with her right now admitting his mistakes because we all know no one is perfect and I’m sure he had is dark times to especially in his addiction I would also like to point out that Pricilla was not the only underage girl he had relationships with one of the youngest being only 14 while you can argue this was just a sign of the times it’s still valid because he was so much older then them their is even rumors in the Hollywood “world” he would have “slumber parties”with underaged girls alone which is not normal I’m not saying their is truth to these rumors but it wouldn’t be hard to believe even though he is greatly important to the music industry as he created a bridge from black media music to white and increasing rock and roll musics popularity ( he did not create that sound) his fame though should not put him on a pedestal

Well, he WAS a predator..today we would categorize him as a pedophile and he would have to register himself as such- It's time we put this puppy to bed-along we Monroe… after all, the best career move is to die young-wallowing in a mixture of sad stories and drugs…

For those of you calling Elvis a predator and a pedophile, I would like to point out that this was a different time period. This was the 50s and 60s so times were different back then. Not saying that what Elvis did was okay but I'm just saying that we're all living in different times than they were back then. That's all.

@@Lucid.Insights The height difference between the actors was intended to make Elvis always appear dominant over Priscilla. It is not believable and has helped fuel obscene talk of abuse or power of control. Priscilla never grows up in this film and is described as a doll without soulful, expressionless, boring and pathetic in her constant search for sexual attention. The film, shot in less than a month and with a low budget, had the sole purpose of portraying Priscilla as a victim of events and is absolutely false. The actor who plays Elvis, besides not remembering him at all, I feel was understandable when he spoke. Dark, slow film, with sequence of scenes without connection. Only by looking at the real photos of the couple do you realize how much in each sign they wanted to highlight only depression and sadness in the protagonist. You leave the theater wondering what ever connected these two people and above all, having omitted many things about Priscilla (for example her betrayals), what then made her decide to go. We therefore empathize more with Elvis than with Priscilla. Coppola wanted to "turn him off" but in the end we understand that, without Elvis, Priscilla makes no sense.
