This shit really has me tweakin sometimes listening to these stories. It’s so similar to the Army and what Soldiers go through, especially the mentality. You can almost smell it on a Soldier if he’s been to war, taken life, or had someone die in his arms. The way we walk, talk, our eyes, how we always have our heads on a swivel and backs up against the wall. Already know all the exits, where to take cover if there is gunfire as soon as we walk into a building. I have felt like the only people I can relate to are people who have been Soldiers, even my own family or friends there is some kind of void or something that blocks what used to be. I actually feel like now I can relate to a whole new set of people, prisoners. If you or anybody else on this thread needs to talk please feel free hmu, I find the only thing that helps me is talking to people who also have PTSD. Talking to therapist does not work for me because how the fuck are you gonna help me when you can’t understand what the fuck is going on in our brains, we are not wired the same.

Even here in Wisc where time pretty laid baçk except for max joints, the youth joints Lincoln Hills ect were just investigated for abuse to inmates. CO's were charged, fired and a couple investigated for sexual charges. The way he explains it, almost puts you there with him.

Good job Jake. You are definitely growing in the right direction. Proud of you. It’s definitely going to stir up a ton of emotions, especially since it affected you to the point of hunting him/them down. You’re still young but you’re learning fast. But think of it this way....kids under serious charges and on their way to prison, more than likely had no father figure, or even blood family that gave a fuck for that matter. These CO’s feel like they have to be your father figure (to the point of the beatings (spankings/discipline) and listening and following instructions) because these kids never had that in their lives. Except for breaking gang rules and losing your life over it, there was no happy medium. These CO’s are dishing out the type of tough love y’all never had, without the love. Kids in prison because they have next to zero respect for anything regarding rules. And they’re there to show you who’s boss in there and for the first time in a lot of these kids lives, are learning to follow rules. I’d be willing to bet that the ones doing everything exactly right as they were told, weren’t the ones getting beat. It takes time, but hopefully far before you get to be my age, some of these “wise thoughts” and “wise thinking” will be cleared up inside of you. Now don’t get me wrong, I still don’t think it’s right for some of these CO’s to do the type of damage they’re doing to some of these YO’s, but you’ve even said yourself...some people, the only way they respond to and understand, is Violence.
