Most definitely! I try every day to be living proof! Spent most of my life in the streets and doin a life sentence on the installment plan and was badly addicted to heroin then later also booze to top it off for much of it. Few years back I got out and decided not to go back to that life and I got help, have stayed sober, completed probation and now work with fellow addicts and at risk youth in a gang prevention program because where I grew up bangin wasn't so much an option as a necessity but here it's almost entirely a choice and not a good one. Thank you for whatever work it is that you do! ✌ If more people did so now we'd not need it as much in the future.

Wendy's would be gourmet if a person has been locked down. It's amazing what kind of makeshift food items a person can create with commissary food items. I've seen it as a corrections officer and it's interesting to watch.

I was a guy who hit commissary every week. I bought at least 10-15 extra soups a week just to hook other people up. It went a long way. I got my release date 2 days before. It was right after commissary and winning the weekly football pool. So I was swimming in it. The night before my release, I got in front of the entire pod and asked who was hungry - bc I was going to cook for the entire pod (60 ish guys). Man, that was one of the best nights everyone was so cool with it.

Dude, I love this! This is great! You should do more prison cooking videos like this where it's kind of a re-enactment of how it went down there. I love the addition of the commissary sacks and Terry even being like, "They told me they were out of the hot pickle so I had to get regular pickle." That shit is GOLD! 😂

38:55 that's not how you cut an Onion... You cut off the bottom to make it flat, and then you cut down into the onion, until you are just about to hit the bottom, turn it and repeat, then cut it in half and slice it all the way through, then you got some nicely uniform squares of onion, and how far apart you cut the first slices in the onion deside the size of the chopped onion pieces... And wet the knife in water, it will minimise the effects of your eyes watering :)

This was a fun video to watch about the microwave eggs that is something my fiancé and I were taught by our cooking teacher at the school for the blind. Not all but some of the tricks you and Terrie used in prison are cooking skills that could really help someone who is blind or otherwise disabled. For example Dave when you and joe made the prison candies or when joe made the cake in the microwave. I just wanted to take a second and thank you and possibly give you guys a different perspective. I have never gone to prison but when I see you guys cook using a lot of the tools my fiancé has to use on a regular basis in order to cook for me ie the microwave it helps me to encourage him to try more and gives him more confidence

Some day APS needs to open a restaurant! Making both prison recipes healthier versions and recipes inspired by prison recipes and just good food too. You’ve got Danny who has some formal training under his belt and all of you guys make good stuff in the kitchen. You guys go freakin insane with the spice... 0_0 we make deviled eggs with salad dressing mustard milk and the egg yolk. No crazy pickles or jelipenos! That’s a new level of whoa.
