Just wanted to say I’m humbled by all the lovely comments, thank you. Also thank you to James for giving me the opportunity. Hopefully we can do it again, so much more to tell and cover. Trying to condense 30 years into 2 hours Is impossible. There’s lots of success stories out there it’s just many people, media and press only want to write about what they see as failures. Maybe that’s for next time we meet James. Thanks again. ❤

I wasn’t lucky enough to have met Phil but his character, personality and HUGE heart shine through in this interview. I was gutted when after watching the interview reading the comments and seeing that he’s passed, so so sad. They always take the best ones early! I don’t think I’ve EVER seen a comment section filled with so much admiration for a man as I’ve seen here. I find it really sad that people only share their feelings about a person AFTER they have passed and I always think “I hope you told them that when they were still with us”, in Phil’s case James’ interview has triggered people to comment on here the difference he made to their lives and what an amazing guy he was and it warms my heart to see that he’s read the comments (and responded to a good chunk of them!) and that even though it’s a tragic loss that he’s passed it’s fantastic that he’s seen for himself how highly thought of he was by so many. He was obviously one in a million and James I’m so sorry that you’ve lost such a good friend and mentor, keep making him proud by continuing your hard work building yourself an amazing life on the right side of the door. I’m so sorry for your loss x Kathy

I can vouch for everything this man says after spending six years, five years as a gym orderly in long Lartin👍👍 truly inspirational man! Six years filled of tears of happiness and sadness alike😂😂😭😭! I remember leaving there and the lads wrote to me telling me of Phil’s plight😭😭 they all decided to do a 24 hour triathlon for the charity and all the top boys were eager to be involved😎😎 they raised thousands and openly admitted to shedding a tear at the presentation when Phil turned up to collect the cheque❤️❤️❤️❤️ only sadness I have is on hearing the the fact that phill stood strong for the poison behind him against the poison in front of him against the governor and the rats all patted him on the back asking him, can you say this can you say that when none of them had the balls to stand up!! And to be fair most of it was for us!! But then again how many of us have done the same? And this is what I’m saying! Phil is proper stuff as we say a fucking minority!! Never change my friend!! Phil, just to say. I grew up in Bury, Walmersley more acturatly. Been in the service for 20yrs, Pei since 2008 our lives are so similar it's scary. However moved to Hull in 1998 so been a yorkshire pudding for a lot of years. Good to hear your story.
