No joke this has been in over a few years since I’ve seen this film, and it shows the hard truth of how society treats people of color , as a kid Elijah was gifted as a photographer, his mom was trying to better herself by being a lawyer, his stepfather was taking photos just to help and support the fam. But he defended himself and his lawyer wasn’t shit so what did E had to do ? Paint, Eat, and Workout until his time was up? Damn my brothers and sisters stop this cycle of hate and break the hate cycle be there for our kids love em and teach em

This movie was writen & filmed HONESTLY up until this segment (mostly the first 5 minutes of this clip 0:01 to 5:00 . Director spent a lot of time building this characters life. I'm from NYC & they did a fairly decent job of showing life. One MAJOR mistake is that New York City is one of the MOST forgiving cities for self-defense. We know this is a movie - but New Yorkers understand having to defend ones self. The character development is starting to drop due to many "outside-issues".
