Maxine really is a silly girl and beyond help. She escapes without any concrete plan in place and then has the nerve to expect her family to bail her out. Admittedly, you could make a case that Roger owed her something for sparing him from jail, but even so, she should have known she wouldn't get any joy there after the way Pauline treated her a while back. Hope Bea wins and gets a good pay off from the department.

There are parents who just can't cope with children that are different from them. Maxine's emotional development was stunted by her mothers/fathers attitude to her which makes her react the criticism. Her best bet is making her way in life and keep her parents at arms length. Lisa Crittenden is superb in this?

Maxine, you're killing me! My heart is breaking for you, and I can't help but pause the show until I've stopped crying. Yes, she was the cause for most of her problems. But only because her family treated her like shit. She only did this last job to save her bitch of a sister & her thieving jackass brother in law. They're so freaking grateful for her pulling the job to keep Roger out of the fire, they turn her in. What's that old saying? "Nothing says loving like a bitch that turns you in." Her phone booth scene always gets to me, because I can relate to having her family turn their backs on her & throw her under the bus! As far as I'm concerned, her family is the blame for what happens to her next. They have her blood on their hands, and are just as guilty as if they were holding the gun & pulling the trigger themselves.

I think it is a mistake in the credits which is pretty common in Prisoner. Sam Browne and Vernon Wells are different actors on IMDb Sam Browne is credited for this episode and episode 391. It is likely he was only in 391 and Vernon Wells who is credited on IMDb as Sarge for this episode but not in the end credits. Vernon also has a lot of acting credits especially in recent years.
