Sonia Stevens is no pushover and is quite a dangerous character. But after Bea took out Nola McKenzie, I seriously don't fancy anyone's chances against her! lol. Shame her reign is soon coming to a close. Best top dog ever, and she could actually fight!

@@teresacalladine7479 I have mixed feelings about Bea. She was the best top dog when it came to intimidation and fighting skills, and slamming the steam press down! It was as if "the press" was a metaphor for Bea stamping down her authority. But she was also a bully and ruled by intimidation. Having revisited the series after 30 years, I realised down the track that other top dogs had their strengths and weaknesses compared to Bea Smith, so they all sort of equalled each other out.

@@josephd.2725 Thanks that's a good overall summary, I really didn't completely see it that way. But then I didn't quite think that deep. But I do believe she's got wiser as times gone by . And there for she thinks more before she leaps and before dishing out acts of violence and so on. As a mother myself I can relate to some of her thinking and wise decisions, (not that I ever act or did any violence towards my children or anyone) but this just a drama .So obviously in a prison situation , or in Bea"s case it is something as a top dog she has had to result to at times when ever required, so I can understand that. And I do like her style , good old Bea . So yes shame she's going. Be sadly missed . It's weird really because it is only a soap , but it's so entertaining to watch and I do love the characters and storylines and you do cling on to certain people more than others , I guess that's what makes you enjoy and love then in a way . So no wonder we fell sad to see them go. But they say all good things must come to an end 😪. Oh well what will be , will be. But let's enjoy while we can.

@@teresacalladine7479 You know it's a good drama that's well written when you get attached to the characters. When I first watched Prisoner as a teenager 30 years ago, I was devastated when my crush on the show, Barbara Fields, succumbed to the smoke and died in the Great Fire of Wentworth. But hey, the great thing is she really didn't die! So fast forward to 2023 and I got to meet the actress who played Barbara and tell her I was devastated to see her die in the fire! We had a bit of a laugh and she thought it was cute. Even got a photo with her. It was great!

Belinda Davey played Hazel very well. I loved her, very raw, real, authentic. She did an excellent job of portraying a woman in deep physical & emotional pain. I'm sad Hazel's lot in life was so bad. I think Judy has bitten off more than she can chew with this Hazel business. She has no proper understanding of how to handle someone with a terminal condition like Hazel has. Wally was weak and should have stood up to her more, and he should have insisted she was placed where she could receive professional medical attention. Its a harsh state Hazel is in and Judy would have thanked him in the long run.

Eugene DeGeorge I absolutely agree with you about Joan wearing thin very quickly. I started watching Prisoner on ITV back in 1997 when I was 14 going on 15, and it was the 500's era of the show. We had episodes slowly aired in the Carlton region of ITV for almost two years. We got up to episode 598 on Thursday the 20th of August 1998. I had to wait for Channel 5's showing of Prisoner to catch up to where ITV left off, which was on Saturday the 18th of March 2000, episode 599, according to wwwentworth.co.uk In that space of less than a hundred episodes, I grew tired and bored of Joan and her scheming and scowling to last me a lifetime. Haha. 😄 And yes, that would have been brilliant to have seen Vera again. 😊😃

very bad premise. A) There is no way on earth a young girl, with no criminal record, would be remanded in custody over $50, very unlikely she would be given more than an official caution for that matter. B) She was right about the prints as well. In Victoria you can not be legally forced to give prints until after you are convicted. It is a constitutional provision. The writers definitely knew this because most of them were Victorians and because they used it as a major plot device with the Nola McKenzie storyline

When you are in so much pain. You don't really care if you become addicted to morphine & other pain killers. I am actually on morphine Tablets & Liquid Oramorph- which is morphine. Which l have to take when in pain. The reason why l am on so many very strong dose of pain killers - is Coz l have a bone disease which is eating away at my bones & in pain 24/7. It's a living hell. I have tried not taking the pain killers & I literally can't move due to the pain. Ok l am not happy that l have to take tablets & medication. I don't have much choice in the matter. It's either : 1 - Don't take the tablets. But will be extreme amounts of pain, where l can move at tall & being in severe pain. ( OR : ) 2 - Take the pain killers & try to live a normal life & be semi sort of free of pain. Even the pain relief works for an hour to couple of hours😐. Rather be addicted the medication than being is serve amounts of pain That's the choice.

TrizzYy100, seriously get a grip! As you well know many drugs are extremely addictive and although nobody sets out to become addicted to drugs, it is a CHOICE initially! Do they not have hospice in Australia? When my father was dying, they called in hospice and the people are so nice, they give the person baths and their meds. They also give them a bag full of things they call a comfort kit. It's really powerful drugs to help them through the pain, plus Xanax for their frazzled nerves. These people are very kind. And why do they have Rosemary in that prison, for a measly fifty dollar so called theft. Along murderers, and prostitutes and drug dealers? This is so stupid. I wish Colleen would take her under her wing, like she did Susie Driscoll. They must have filmed this out of sequence, Sonia's hair is short at the first, then at 14:45 it's longer. YUCK! My dogs food looks better than that crap their giving them today. Sonia is trying not to cry.

At the time this was aired there was no public health system in Australia. Going to a hospice would have required money.

5:30 "I was bored" Oh that is a great excuse for terrorizing people, demanding protection money and selling smack. 9:50 because you are female - obviously you are guilty of a crime against a man - even though he was the one who tired to cause harm - the girl gets victimized and ends of in Wentworth. What a crock! Rodney is a creep and needs to have his balls clipped. I always love the "stand on the white line" routine. YOU MUST ANSWER THE QUESTION! [And --- what if I don't?] 11:20 "She's dying, you're not trained for this sort of thing." Hmmm, death is a natural process - and there is no training necessary.... 35:40 "Oh, little lamb can bleat." The Freak was most likely a bully from a very young age. She was the type that tortured animals for fun as a pre-teen. Creepy.

Poor Hazel. I really wanted her to come good in the end and get her kids back. Once again Judy makes a bad decision by playing nursemaid. She really is not the best person to run Driscoll House. Hazel needs her pills and should be in control of them. Judy should have thought of that before starting all this mess. Rosemary’s crybaby nonsense is past ridiculous. Wonky Warner all over again. Ferguson is back to full-on Panto mode. Tiring.

That's a lovely thought but in real life it has nothing to do with them with holding the meds but the Dr will only prescribe the dose they think they need and if they take it all b4 they shud the the Dr will not prescribe any more until the script is due so altho it's a lovely thought to be able to give them what they want if it's not taken properly then they cud be without medication and pain relief until the script is due so I do get it
