I love how the Freak, just one second after being told that there's a gas emergency, takes her gas mask like it's the most natural thing in the world, and speeds off to "reverse-cycle the air conditioning" as if it's something she does every day

Funny how Reno encourages the women to lag but when they do she doesn't believe them!!
@adamkrueger2741
@adamkrueger2741 5 жыл бұрын
It was the word of many against hers. Reno had to go with it. Same rules apply regardless of colour and if that had been anyone else who lagged they'd have been battered. Rita was right when she said it was only because she was black that they let her off. But "Racism" only counts when it's convenient

Has anyone noticed how the episodes are getting shorter all the time? They started out on 48 or 49 minutes, and now they're down to 43 or 44 minutes. Obviously this is probably something to do with the commercial ads getting longer and longer. I remember the same thing happening in the UK during the 1980s and 1990s. A 60 minute show used to have about 3 advert breaks and each of them used to last about 3 minutes. 20 years later, a 60 minute show would have about 5 advert breaks and each one would last about 5 minutes.

Kblogg no .. that is a very bad and uninformed statement and me being Indigenous Australian am offended by that. I was raised by my mother to own my shit, not to pull the race card, do good in life, fight for equality but don't feed into racism and help those less fortunate than ourselves. We now raise our children to do the same .. to own their shit or face the consequences. There are too many non Indigenous people that are quick to believe that we are all one of the same. I have worked hard ALL of my life and everything I have is bought and owned by me and a result from my hard work over the years.

That prison has its far share of very rare psychosomatic illnesses. There was that girl in the wheelchair who just needed a good shock to start walking again, Lisa with her loss of voice cured by the realisation that she wasn't responsible for her boyfriend's death, Lori becoming catatonic after being raped cured by her friend's voices. At least Pixie never recovered from her rare reaction to trauma.

Although Willie's amnesia was due to being knocked out, its a miracle she was cured by hitting her head again. A second blow to the head is far more likely to worsen than cure an existing head injury and related symptoms. Somehow, it worked for Willie so it does seem Wentworth is home to rare psychosomatic illness and cures. All you need now is the Aussie equivalent of House as the on site doc.

Don't quite know what to think about the Aboriginal storyline. To make the character constantly angry is a bit difficult to watch, for many, she would be a highly unsympathetic character, I know they'll twist it for a 'happy' ending, but it was quite a brave writing move to do it this way, rather than just show her suffering racism & sitting back quietly.

So Rita is a racist, who complains she's always judged for who she is i.e a bikie? Its a bit hypocritical to say that based on who she is. No wonder I don't really like her. We're all the same, we came out the same, we breed the same, we eat the same, we have the same blood etc etc. Skin colour doesn't define who you are, just like your background or parents don't define the person you really are. Its your choices and actions that define a person. Having understanding and compassion goes along way too, sadly some have missed that. She of course is going about it the wrong way Sarah, though I would be pissed off if I was spoken like that and treated like that, no matter what skin colour I was! Touching on racism would have been incredibly rare in the 80s, considering the history in school is still shoved under the rug and not brought to the depth it really was, to what we know. Considering the 60s they were still chained and sold off to slaves practically, its pretty strong story for its time. It would have been pretty hard playing the part, though also good for the morality it holds...

Rita wasn't racist - Rodney Adams and Spider were the worst offenders in that department. Rita explained it in context to Sarah. Spider did it to be aggravating and insulting. Rodney did it because he's an ignorant, uneducated moron. Rita sorted both Spider and Rodney out for it. She actually made some effort to try and befriend Sarah (helping her to calm down a bit) if she was racist or a hater, she wouldn't have bothered.

Sophie Peach I used to be an interpreter for the Deaf for over 12 years and that definitely is AUSLAN she is using. Smh.

I'm suprised Alice was squeamish over Lisa slashing her wrists, seeing as she helped Lou string Sam Greenway up after electrocuting her. Don't get me wrong, Louise played Lou Kelly brilliantly but her violence was so very over the top at times.

Why at this point is Joan still using the name Wendy Glover when her real name is now revealed to be Trish Haynes?

Isn't it ironic how Wendy Glover (or similar name) was also Julianne's character in Kingswood Country?

Rita was not the only one to inject new life into this show, Merle also plays a major roll in that. And Kath also helps a lot. I like Kath (The real Kath) For all it's ups and downs. it is still one of the best shows ever - what TV was made for as opposed to so much rubbish they push on us. We play the biggest part making that happen, too.

Radiant Silver Labs: Yes, there's been a fair old bit of traffic through those air conditioning ducts over the years, hasn't there? Susie Driscoll tried to escape through them, got stuck and had to be rescued, Paddy Lawson used them to escape 'The Great Fire Of Wentworth', Nora Flynn escaped by crawling through them, as did Lexie Patterson, sweet little Chookie Egbert went through them during the Ruth Ballinger siege and Bob Moran used them during the Lou Kelly takeover attempt. And now Sarah West is able to just pop a cover off, stick a makeshift poison gas concoction behind it and pop the cover back on again. You'd think with all Joan's constant twittering on, about ". . . security needs to be tightened up around here . . ." she might have started by at least securing up the air vents.

They'd have to. The windows have bars and glass (remember Rita with the C. B.) therefore no air coming in.
