Bea's amnesia storyline is so excellent, and the fact that Val thought of it herself makes it even better. What makes it so great (my opinion) is that we get a glimpse of what Bea was like prior to prison life, and it makes her more of an intricate and interesting character. It shows us that murdering someone in a fit of rage, prison life, and losing her daughter to drugs moulded her into this tough, no-nonsense, conniving, and dangerous woman. Before that, she was a kind, gentle, and civil woman with quite a temper. Though even though she had a temper, she never intended to be detrimental towards others. Unfortunately that temper got the best of her, and formed the path that I explained before. Thus, Queen Bea was born.
@charlottewebb5822 жыл бұрын
I agree it's almost like she snapped she was pushed by her husbands and best friends cheating then her daughter needing help and dying without her being to help plus the violence of prison politics this story totally shows hiw bea kind of came about vals acting here has been outstanding she evn looks different sounds different and walks different and wears her uniform differently its so clever and she did it perfectly

Denise is a good writer, indeed, but major storyline decisions are usually dictated by the show's producer. In the case of the Barnhurst 5, horrible producer Marie Trevor was responsible for that....and scores of other bad decisions when she arrived as producer in the latter 400s.

I believe it was Coral Drouyn who was a major writer on the show, who joined Prisoner in 1980 or 1981, up until 1985/1986 and the final producer, Marie Trevor, who came up with the Barnhurst 5 idea. 😃

Bea's conscience finally got the better of her then. She may come across as a bit selfish at times, but on the whole she looks out for the best interests of her fellow inmates, unlike Margo! Meg should have made going to court more of a priority rather than wasting time on that waste of space Nick and making herself late!
