The same actress had already been playing Maggot since episode 450. It's amazing what the producers thought they'd get away with in terms of casting.

I read that Jim Neighbors felt different back in his early 20s but had to keep his choices in secret. But Carol Burnett knew about him and accepted him. She would have Jim as her guest star on every 1st episode of The Carol Burnett Show for her entire time on the air. He was her good luck charm. And on The Brady Bunch Florence Henderson knew Bob Reed was gay, even Susan Olsen knew at age seven. His daughter Karen lived with her mother and I don't know if he got visitation rights to see her because he lived with his partner. But I know he loved the children from the show like they were his own and they loved him. Karen was on the episode of The Brady Bunch about the Slumber Party. She was the blue eyed girl that was going to walk up the stairs with Marcia to see what her brothers were doing. She looked like her dad.
