From Triglav National Park the journey leads over the Nock mountains and Lake Wörthersee to Riegersburg castle. The Slovenian pilot and photographer Matevž Lenarčič has flown over the Alps in his light power glider countless times - and he took over 100.000 pictures from the air.
In Radenthein Hans-Joerg Aschbacher runs Europe’s last farmer’s bath and Peter Lizzi offers one of Europe’s largest bat colonies a home. In Ferlach Pamela Mozetić studies to become a gunsmith, a trade which goes back to the 16th century. In Heinrich Holler’s fish ponds at Hornegg manor a 40 year old catfish is a tenant for life. Johannes Zechner lives at the foot of the Riegersburg. As an assistant falconer he takes care of majestic birds of prey.

The Alps are the most prominent mountain range in Europe and also one of the most accessible. Over thousands of years, a unique landscape was created in which man and nature shaped each other. The documentary series approaches this fascinating world from an unusual perspective - from above. Using Cineflex camera technology, "Alps from above" sets the scene for the most fascinating peaks of the Alps. Breathtaking aerial shots alternate with pointed vignettes of the mountain inhabitants; a flow of high-quality images provides a modern profile of life in the Alps.

it shows you a marvelous corner of white Europe that still has not been invaded by migrants. So, you see, whether you like it or not, it all comes down to political choices.
