Thank you for making this video, I've been watching other comparisons videos about those 2 phones and like said in other comments for some reasons people seem to favored the Pixel 3a.....but I've been using Moto phones for a while and always been happy with them. I really think that because Google is so huge that they just try to drown a very good phone that has a deja vu look, the Z family is coming to an end and Motorola needs to realize that. The Z4 definitely comes out on top. Again Thank you for this great, genuine, non bias video.

Dynamic range and color accuracy are better on Pixel photos, I hope there will be a gcam develop for the Z4 or at least some camera update to get better color processing. And indoor video seems over exposed on Z4.

The first gcam port on this page works very well, especially in low or iffy light. As always I'm not responsible if something goes wrong. I haven't tested it outside as I've only had the Z4 for a day. @@benhorrocks5024 thanks I've been looking for a port as Moto night mode is really bad. You can't take pictures of people at all. The slightest movement it will totally wreck the shot.

@@p.chuckmoralesesquire3965 what did you not like about the Z Force camera? I have taken some absolutely amazing pics with mine. I also have a Sony Cybershot HX300 (not the H300 with Sony lens) with the 20.4 mp Carl Zeiss lens, and aside from zoom, my Moto Z Force takes about as good photos. I'm a hobbyist photographer and take a lot of photos, mostly of my kids and nature, and the Moto Z Force camera is amazing. I currently still use my OG Z Force because I have failed to find a phone with better camera to warrant spending money upgrading. I also have an Olympus Pen E-PL7 with many lenses, so I do know what good photos look like. Maybe the camera performs better with all current updates?

This video was helpful. Most reviewers seem to be too biased towards the pixel 3A's camera over the Z4. As for moto's camera's being bad before. Well, they were. They have always been crap. Maybe that's why Lenovo finally caved in and used a Sony sensor on this one. This is the only Moto worth buying. Plus the battery life is much better then the pixel. Build materials are better. Larger screen on about the same size as the Pixel XL. IMO, this video disproves any real advantage that the pixel may have a better camera then the Z4. Because in everything else, the Z4 is superior. Possible in some low light conditions the pixel will come ahead. This video lacks any low light comparisons which will probably show bigger differences between the two.

First off Motorola was always known for good cameras, your comment was wrong. And as far as biased towards a name such as the Sony sensor you mentioned, the Sony Xperia 10 plus has a horrible camera put down by almost every reviewer.

I've owned a few and believe me they're not that great in the low light performance is terrible but this Z4 looks pretty good from the examples I've seen definitely the best one yet. I agree Sony phones have shity cameras but they do make a lot of good sensors which is kind of weird that they can't make good software for them in their own phones.

Thank you immensely for doing this, specifically with these two phones. I made a rash decision out of necessity today on the Verizon chat with a very patient customer service agent. I chose the Z4 bc I like Moto phones and I LOVE Gorilla glass. I am hell on a phone and that saves my life every day. I was tempted to get the Pixel, but I was hesitant bc of the lack of Gorilla glass (I'm serious about Gorilla glass)... I was worried though when I saw a video that sorta thumbed it's nose at the camera, but between your in-depth look at both phones and then this comparison of the two I feel like they are in the same class and I didn't pick badly.Some one could go with either to be honest and probably not lose out, but for me and how I like a phone to operate the moto was the best choice... Thank you so so much for putting my mind at ease.

Yup you're right. Selfie video is better on the Z4 because it's truer colors and more detailed (look at the collar of your tee) while the 3a is cooler. But in photos, it's vice versa. The 3a is warmer and accurate while the Z4 is cooler. I do wish Google used the 48MP sensor every OEM is using. It is GOOD and it would've been a beast with Google's image processing. Video stabilization is better on the 3a though I prefer the color reproduction on the Z4. Still though, Motorola did a really good job here.

Best phone ever. With the mods I've picked up for cheap in Amazon or offer up. Best sound jbl. Best viewing with the projector. Best 5g add on with battery. Best way to charge on the go with the extra battery. Mist cameras will have 3 or 4 lenses. Sorry the macro mode Will hardly be used so now your down one. Then ultra wide angle again only when needed now your down to one or two. This camera is amazing. Thanks for the reviews best phone ever.

Dark skin look more natural , I tried using cheap Phones with an HDR app but it makes me look too orange . Right now I have a moto E and for what it cost , I am more than happy with the quality and colors . Back in 2015 I had the 1st gen Moto E and that one did great in outdoor natural light.

Pixel front facing stabilization definitely better, but the differences are marginal and the camera is supposed to be the only real advantage the Pixel has over the Z4

In person the pixel screen is terrible. Dull and very dim. So much so I'd say its a showstopper. The Z4 screen absolutely destroys whatever display Google is using. I ordered a Z4. The pixel was very unimpressive. And it does not even have gorilla glass. I mean who does that? Does not get very bright at all. You hear people talk about it in reviews but its a deal killer. You better believe it.

@@HiPlains1 The screen gets bright enough for daylight and has a crisp sharp look. Also, the screen isn't gorilla glass, it's something that is harder. Dragontrail glass has a higher hardness, meaning it is more scratch resistant. Both good phones, but the pixel is certainly better...

@@chancefletcher7353 Well that's you opinion. Used both phones side by side at best buy and the pixels screen was significantly dimmer. Also, the screen looks allot nicer on the Moto. Noticeably larger as well then the XL. Not minding the small teardrop front camera to avoid the huge bezels that are on the Pixel XL. Most reviewers have said outside the PIxel's camera the Z4 is better. Definitely has better build and materials. 128GB versus 64GB internal storage which is a huge plus. Especially when the pixel offers no SD card storage. I don't always have internet access when traveling so the extra space is essential. The in screen fingerprint works very well and I personally have no issues with it. The phone sports a modern design whereas the pixel has a very dated design. Also Pixels makes its gestures mandatory whereas the moto allows you do use that or have nav buttons. Mostly standard android on the moto but the few enhancements are welcome. And lastly the Z4 offers a newer chipset with the 675 instead of the older 670. As far as the camera the Z4 is very good for my needs. I have not used the night time mode but will give that to the pixel. I will trust what most reviewers are saying the the AI software is better for low light. But its not enough to compromise everything else on the HW end to go with the pixel. Not even remotely so.

@@HiPlains1 the pixel 3 is marginally slower than the z4 on paper. Through software, it should have a smoother experience and waaaay more support for the future with updates. It's all opinion minis the fact that the pixel camera is better all around

@@chancefletcher7353 The main deal killer for me was the screen. And that is probably the most important feature. The huge bezels and the Z4 getting allot brighter and nicer looking pretty much sealed the deal. Many show stoppers for me. Mandatory google gestures was a no go. But you add to not having sufficient internal memory for games etc.. and no SD support at that price point seemed a poor value. In the end I was not willing to sacrifice everything for a better camera. The Z4 is also very smooth and they do pretty good with updates as well. My old Moto Z play is still plenty fast and still has a two day battery life after three years. It only has 3 gigs of ram and the 625. They are both good phones but the pixel's HW is severely lacking. People say the pixel is a great value/price. I don't see it that way. I see it being too expensive for what it is. The sensor is not as good as the moto. Its all in the AI software which does not add to cost. Less memory, plastic construction, no SD all reduce the component costs. And IMO, they used a cheaper oled panel as well. It did not impress me when comparing it side by side with the Z4 display. For the specs, I would not pay more then 300 for a pixel 3A. At 400 dollars its a rip.
