There is difference between prithvi doing that role in 2013 and Mammootty doing that role now Prithvi wasn't as big a star that time as he is now Meanwhile Mammootty is considered a megastar of not just Malayalam but Indian cinema itself along with the likes of Amitabh , Rajni, Kamal etc So somebody of his stature willing to do a role like that without caring about his image is really appreciable

I think he is one of the finest actors this country has produced".... I beg to disagree with this. He is very very intelligent and ambitious about films of course. And he keeps trying to do better ,better,better and better as an actor. He is hard working, knowledgeable about films. He is very handsome articulate and very clear about his ambition and vision . He is definitely not frivolous and stupid like some of the bollywood stars. As a director he is definitely one of best in India. The new comers must consider himas a role model. He is refined and polished. Not a grain of vulgarity or meanness in him. But as an actor he has a long way to go. He was very good in " Nandanam" and " Vasthavam".
