how did you actually in the tower? Because normal people don't go in the tower when the Bells are ringing?

Well here you *could* ring them for free if you came at the right time for ringing and asked, but the problem is you need some skill for that because the bells have to be in sync and that is not easily done by hand when the bells are heavy and not weighted perfectly. Also small and small-medium bells have to be rung by the same person because ropes are so close together, he has to be very skilled to keep them in sync both. Almost all of us are wearing ear protectors, I always bring them with me.

At 1:48 I think he has foam, but I found foam less than sufficient at suppressing loud sound (I tried it in Kropa and after ringing my ears hurt). But I don't know, I use my "headphones" which I bought at tools for construction workers part of Bauhaus and they work pretty well :)

Okay, i have also Always my ear protection when the bells are ringing, but a hour strike is less loud then when the bells are swinging :-)

Yeah, you could say that XD But usually there is a person who holds the clapper and releases it when time comes. In this case someone had a pretty good idea on how to automate that :D

super pritrkavanje!
@TheDenix811 жыл бұрын
Im afraid that this type of ringing can't be done here :) There is too little space (if you look at the window you will see that stone had to be cut away for the bell to fit) and the clapper is not the right type.
@TheDenix811 жыл бұрын
Well the tower is very low, just a few stairs above the ground, the doors were open, so I and spg1211 went in and asked if we may... :D They even let spg1211 play on the second smallest bell :P

Usually yes, here it's especially quiet when clock strikes, but if I were standing next to Big Ben it would probably be a different story (with that enormous hammer) :P

In Holland you can ring the bells with hand when you are paying some Euros, but are you protecting your ears?

@krm4c410 жыл бұрын
@krm4c410 жыл бұрын
@TheDenix810 жыл бұрын
Blaž Kramarič Tako tudi jaz mislim :) Ne, le ob nedeljah. Naslednjo nedeljo je zadnjič pritrkavanje. In to prav posebnega basa, ki daje tak mogočnosten vtis ;)
