FYI, I'll probably make some modifications which you might want to consider. I would make the frame a bit larger as well as the curtain. Great idea. Small and simple. We use a pop-up shower tent, which is fast and convenient, but if space is an issue our tent does take up a lot of space. People who owns teardrops are always looking for a side entry tent that can be used for changing clothes. I think what you created here would be perfect for the teardrop crowd.
@FromShetoMe5 жыл бұрын
I'm sure the pop up is easier and you don't have to worry so much about the wind or making sure the suction cups stay put. BTW, I spent yesterday binge watching your content. Your channel is going to take off in the way that Slim Potatohead did.

I’m 6’5” and I have a teardrop that I can’t stand up in. Changing clothes can often be a challenge laying down. I plan to follow your design but make it a little bigger not only for maybe a potential shower but definitely to change clothes in. Great idea with the suction cup hooks. I will definitely be ordering those.
@FromShetoMe5 жыл бұрын
The suction cups stick well on glass. I’ve been thinking about magnets to stick on the rig. But definitely larger size would be nice.
@ATLbench5 жыл бұрын
From She to Me I realized my windows are too low! I built my teardrop out of wood so they won’t suction to that. My solution: small squares of sheet metal adhered to the wood using liquid nails and tape to secure for 24 hours. Then I will use the suction cup hooks on those sheet metal squares.
@emfern27492 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this! I have a privacy shower tent but in order to enter it, you need the opening to be slightly towards the side. Then once you are in, you have to turn it back towards the camper, to face the shower so the opening can let the shower hose in. Causing the stakes to lift and become unstable every time. (Not sure if I explained that correctly-lol) But you just saved us bc we love our outdoor showers! This is great! Thank you so much!!!
@FromShetoMe2 жыл бұрын
I re-made mine so that it was a little bit bigger and has 2 legs instead of one. Also, there are large magnets that would probably work better than suction cups.
@usaman73582 жыл бұрын
Now you've both got me thinking. When I first watched this, I was feverishly writing notes thinking "AHA, this is the ticket". Then I got to thinking that a quick shower tent is about equally as "difficult" to put up as this, maybe even easier if you buy an "instant pop up" type. But then, the shower tent can hold the TOILET too. AND, can perhaps be a "spot saver" if you need to leave the spot for any reason. I'm just a part time camper so don't know yet but after thinking it through more, I'm thinking the shower tent wins. As for your stakes lifting, I'm guessing just a longer hose would fix the "problem"? That or just shimy youself into the tent shower while its facing the shower without turning it sideways? I'm thinking there is some solution.

Your final product is just great! Looks perfectly functional, and very lightweight and portable also. I have been looking for a way to add an exterior privacy cubical to a minivan, now that using public restrooms is questionable. I like your use of suction hooks. I have also been experimenting with using 75-pound-hold "fishing" magnets (a dozen for 20 bucks on Amazon- some have hooks, some have eyes) for pinning the curtain to the vehicle/holding up a conduit frame/etc. Thanks for posting!

Another way to shower outdoors is to run the hose to the back of the van. You can open the doors and put the curtain between the doors. I use two magnetic hooks. The hard part is figuring out the hardware needed to attach the shower component to the hose, etc.

@@FromShetoMe We are rolling in a '16 Roadtrek Zion so we have the shower compartment over the left rear tire. Your system will work for us.
