Kinda fun to watch but there's no exposure here. It's public record at FAA tail number registry. About 1,100 are blocked. The owners don’t have to meet any test to keep their flights secret. They merely submit a request to the National Business Aviation Association, a trade group that lobbied to set up the program on the grounds that secrecy is justified to protect business deals and the security of executives.

Anyone who can afford a G-500 can afford a G-550. The 550 is an older model, albeit one with greater range than the 500, which is essentially a shorter range version of the G-600. The 500 and 600 both have larger cabin cross sections than the 550, which is basically the same tube as the G-I, G-II, G-III, G-IV, G-IVSP, G-V, just longer (except for the G-V, IIRCi). Different aircraft of different vintages for different missions.

You can Google the registration name, i.e. Joe's Drainpipes, and sometimes get more info that way. It's disheartening, though, to realize how many Podunk companies are writing off these jets. The custom paint jobs alone cost millions. We need to close the tax loopholes for these, especially when company jets are travelling to Aspen on "business".

Exposed? It's transportation that saves enormous amounts of time. Great gig if you can afford it! What I have noticed is that quite a few of these are NetJets operated jets which means they are fractionally owned by as many as 10 people...or businesses.

How in the world do these individuals and businesses own and operate these jets??? The money it takes just to park one at an airport and fuel costs is outrageous! That is before buying the jet and hiring a pilot(s) to fly them. Where did I go wrong???

I’m so conflicted: take the Gulfstream or Challenger? I was fortunate to have a position with a company that had 2 - G2’s and an early Challenger. This was 35 years ago the G-2s didn’t have hush kits and with only 5-6 of us on it, felt like a fighter. (Also not Fly By Wire) Gulfstream was set up for 14 passengers and 3 crew. The newer Challenger was slightly more luxurious and wider and set-up for 10 passengers and 3 crew. It was Fly By Wire Regardless it was wonderful and a real pleasure to be able to fly on those planes. Most of the time I was flying we were taking the most Sr Executives and guests to auto races. As Motorsports Marketing Director, I tried to treat the pilots like guests with good tickets (passes where possible) and they got the same mech as the guests. Actually they were all really good guys and all but 1 executive was also very nice….

Any idiot can look up the tail number and therefore the owners of any airplane as well as the year and model. That's why I ensure my tail number is kept off my channel, and then when I started scambaiting, I removed all of my flight videos from it. The FAA needs to take privacy more seriously and make it so that only certain people, like law enforcement, insurance companies, etc can look up tail numbers like states do with license plates.

@@AllenPortman you can't just google a car license plate number. But you can a tail number on a plane. FAA is too loose with that information. In fact, the FAA has a website to look up owner information which they call the N-Number lookup.

@@flyingGrandpa HAVE TO AGREE. we used to follow our university jet used for recruiting and we would all get an idea who was getting visited. Now they fly a lot of those in boosters planes or commercial because of how much information was leaked.
