“If you live in CA and want to go to UC Berkeley and you get in…” HAHAHAHAH therein lies the problem - it’s virtually impossible to get in, even with the most egregiously over-qualified credentials. And that doesn’t even begin to mention the cost of living, IF one can actually find a place, in Berkeley, where housing is only guaranteed for freshman year.

Yes, Berkeley and UCLA both have extremely low admission rates, in part because everyone from California applies there. UCLA, for example, is the single most applied to college in the nation. Berkeley is #3, and UC San Diego is #2.
