Want to lose your abdomen flab? Try virility breathing : By Guru Yogi Raj Dutta Moulded in the image of God, man is a being of energy in a galaxy of galaxies and is correlated with the forces of nature. Within the human frame, in latent form is an inexhaustible reservoir of vital energy known as prana, to tap which, the mind is persuaded to move away from the outer world of duality and step into the inner world of abiding reality. The mind has to choose between two masters. One is named the self, the usurper abounding in thoughts and deeds of lust, hatred, passion and strife. It conjures in man a false sense of separateness, the root cause of all conflict the world over, resulting in bloody wars of mass destruction. The other, the rightful master, is truth. This rightful master dwells in the human body as the breath of life and once the mind taste the nectar of life in communion with this in dwelling reality, all worldly pleasures pale into insignificance. The mind is now as light and pure as breath itself and awakens to the inner world of abiding reality. The regular and dedicated sadhana of Sahaj Shakti Yoga, spontaneously awakens the great serpentine power known as Kundalini Shakti. The very presence of a being who has attained this Shakti, exudes a fragrance of living love and compassion. Unaware, the others in the presence of such a being, begin to glow with a new freshness and an unspeakable joy. This weeks let us practice the "virility breath." Stand erect with the navel slightly pulled in. Focus your mind on your breath and exhale emptying the belly of all breath. Now pull the navel back as far as possible and simultaneously contract the rectal and retrospective nerves to the optimum. Hold out the breath till the necessity for breathing is felt. Then inhale and release the strain on the navel and the two nerves as well. Repeat the process for two to three minutes. • Benefits: The therapeutic breathing tones up the entire digestive system, increases appetite, reduces surplus fat around the abdomen, invigorates, the nerves and muscles of the abdominal region and tones up the testes in men and ovaries in women. • Note: Do Sahaj Shakti Yoga postures according to your bodily limits. If you cannot do the full form, do only as much as you can. Practice makes perfect. Female practitioners should avoid yoga practice during their menstrual cycles and during advanced stages of pregnancy, when it should only be done under proper care to facilitate easy delivery.
