Because kahani was entirely on Vidya's shoulders and became a hit too. The kind of roles in that year also decide the fate. It's a matter of luck too sometimes. Nevertheless Priyanka has mostly been nominated for atleast one movie per year of release in her career. She has won Filmfare in all acting categories. She deserved the national award too for Bajirao as best supporting actor but Tanvi Azmi won instead (actress who played Bajirao's mother)

She was not actually being savage. It was more of her pain and disappointment behind that remark. On Koffee with karan shr did express her disappointment about it when Karan asked her. But that year Vidya was the lead in Kahani and it was a superhit whereas Priyanka wasn't the sole lead in Barfi.
