I’m not rich by far and I live in an apartment. I eat off of porcelain and drink out of crystal everyday. Why not treat yourself like royalty? Who else is going to?

Same here. I use the British China my grandmother hid in a cabinet for 50 years. Also, because this style isn't popular with young people, you can find very expensive China in thrift stores!

rocio jurado I was interdicted to the fine porcelain when I was 3 years old when I asked when can I sit at the big boy table my grandmama said when I know how to set a table and sit at the table properly then I may do so I said okay So that summer I spent with her and she showed me how to set the table for 75 people and she also taught me which peace is what and what it is used for same as the sterling that we ate with as well it’s a true treasure when you know what each peace is used for and it’s meaning that’s the way I look at it I enjoy it very much I know my father ounce told me that to lay your grandmamas table it’s up into the high hundreds of thousand mark There’s about 18 peace’s to one of her place setting and that’s informal to her standards lol

I only just discovered that the dinner set I use daily is the same Tza Tza Gabor’s husband auctioned soon after she died ... and the same that was used in the serial Dynasty at Joan Collins’ home 🤣. The extraordinarily beautiful and hand painted Wedgewood Florentine Turquoise 😍, patterns of which were, allegedly, drawn from Emperor’s Nero Domus Aurea in Rome where I was born 😬

But when I came across your excellent comment, I was hopeless and had to laugh out loud ... I think you only need two things to eat: hunger and of course, food. Spaghetti with Bolognese Sauce tastes just as good whether served in a large Ming Dynasty Chinese porcelain bowl or a large Xi Jiping Dynasty Chinese plastic bowl

I was drawn to the beauty of the dishes and I love perusing antique and second hand stores. They are truly treasure chests, you just have to take your time and appreciative the 🎁 gifts. Obviously when you are very monetarily affluent, you can invest in these objets d’art as a passionate hobby. Every HUman has an interest in some aspect of Beauty in the world, but most NEVER have an opportunity to express this interest. However, the families such as the Rockefeller’s, Rothschilds , Vanderbilts, etc and those in many of the families in Europe took, stole and made their fortunes via Slavery; Diamond and Gold mining and owning factories in which historically child labor was used and abused. So, when we admire their taste of entertaining and their collections of things, remember that simultaneously countless people gave their blood, sweat, tears and lives so that these families for generations to come, enjoyed the fruits of other people’s PAIN! We are now creating a NEW Earth 🌍 where there is Abundance for ALL in ways which are for their Highest and Greatest Good! There is Balance in ALL Things. We are releasing giving our Power to Others, speaking our Truth ad Honoring that we came to Mother Earth to Create Heaven on Earth. Unfortunately there is so much coming to the surface which has been anchored and hidden in the dense energies. This is to Awaken Us, so that Our Beloved Planet NEVER has to experience this again.

These must have been very cold people, they bought so much porcelain made from Cornish clay, which is what most toilet bowls are made of-the famille rose is fabulous and definitely isn't harsh or very white. My favourites: Sevres, Dresden, Meissen, Chelsea and Italian Rococo, especially figural. There's a Sevres Museum in Paris and the Queen's Chelsea is fabulous and not so icey-cold English toilet bowl style.

The worst advice ever given is at approximately 3:19. I was noticing that some of these pieces look heavily worn and damaged even, and then this foolish curator gives the advice to take grandmother's china out of the cabinet and use it. Well, when you use it, you damage it with knife marks and the inevitable wear and tear and the unavoidable, occasional breakage. And, add to that the fact that it's probably not particularly healthful to eat off of dinnerware that was painted with paints that probably contained lead and other toxic elements, especially when said porcelain's paint is wearing off with use! .
