I’ve been per diem since graduating school. I love it. I work for facilities directly. Although they try and push for full time, they know a lot of people want per diem and will hire you as a per diem

@@Miss_Sto0d I work at a rehab hospital. Most of them are connected to a LTC facility but I work rehab only. It’s short and it keeps you busy. Most of the time they are looking for anyone so they will hire per diem

Another good bonus is that it can be a good place to get ACLS/PALS etc recerts done if your main job is far from home.

Thank you for the info. I have a nursing LLC, travel nurse (where I have benefits like healthcare, 401k) and just started working per diem In between my contracts. You talked the per diem under your LLC. Can you talk more about that

What a great explanation! I'm watching from Panama. I have a couple questions for you. Here in Panama we classificate the nursing areas like Primer level of health assistance (vaccines and community) Second level (working at the hospital on general areas) Specialized ( maternity, obstetrics, ER, ICU, epidemiology, oncology and more).

I have med surg experience and currently work full time ICU and just signed up for my first per diem shift. The shift is PACU. I believe I’ll do great, but I’m not sure what to expect. I’m nervous

Don’t need any experience. They still train you either way for only 3 days whether you’re fulltime or prn at a nursing home.

One of the requirements for classifying a job as per diem is that they can’t tell you when to work!
