In this project, we will create an alleyway of a machiya (townhouse) in Kyoto.
It will be a long alley, and we will install each stone one by one. Please take a look.

It would be nice to have a tour of the place the paving stones were purchased. Also visit to the plant nurseries. I enjoy the videos, thank you.

Absolutely beautiful! Laid with such precision and care. It looks like it was always there, installed centuries ago. Kudos to the gentlemen in the video! True artisans! ❤️

That looks like a very interesting project, with all the walls stepping back and forth, the different roof lines. Can't wait for the next part. 🙂

I love seeing where these craftsmen buy the materials for their projects! It's very interesting to me! The next time there is a project using large bamboo, can you show us where it comes from? I'm curious to see that process. By the way, how was your quick trip back to Kyoto?

Can you please tell me when you are wetting down the sand around stones, and then using trowel around edges, is there concrete in the mix or just sand? How do the pavers not shift around over time if just using sand? Thank you.
