The story behind Jordox video is actually very nice if you understand it. The axe is here to be dropped meaning the end of the war, in french we say"to burry the battle axe" when are trying to reconciliate with someone. Jordox is tired of shedding blood through battles and hopes for a focus on artistry more than a battle oriented competition. I think that's what he meant in his lyrics. Falling in the water like he does reminds me of a religious tradition when you wash away your sins by emerging yourself in the water. He, by the way, does it right after countering Den like he's cleansing himself for what he has just done and ends the cycle here which lead to the last part of his routine about peace and being lighter, purified from his burden, his sins. I think it was a very poetic moment and i love it, Jordox touches the soul.

Absolutely what i thought.....because he wanted to save his best track for small finals vs bart... Maybe he knew, it would be really hard to win against den. So better keep his best track for small finals. Otherwise, we knew that vilardo was really strong in top16, but he defeated him with his masterpeice, which clearly shows that he has potential

29:45 My interpretation of this was that being softer may have been intentional. The kind of atmosphere that was created in the beginning, with the calming melody and lyricism, didn't project feelings of charging into battle. 37:12 In the visual video itself, he's in a beautifully serene woodland environment. The axe he's holding seems incredibly out of place in a setting like this. Upon saying "you just want to see blood", He drives that weapon into the soil. 31:13 It was mentioned that this section sounded slower or darker and it lacked power. To me, this felt like he didn't hold the strength to drive his weapon into his competitor because he never truly wanted to "bloody his hands" in the first place. The lyrics of his song were about him being here to express his soul, but others wanting a bloody battle. "Let's calm down. Enjoy the ride. We got into this newer level, rising up above like doves. But you just don't get it. I'm just here to express my soul, but you just want to see blood." 37:24 The section about Den seemed out of place, just as the axe did. After he was done, he let go of the axe, dropping his "bloodied weapon". And as it slowly sinks to the bottom, he falls down into the water with open arms. Almost as if he was cleansing himself of sin or of the blood he had reluctantly spilled, knowing that he'd live with the guilt of his actions. Afterward, he transitions into a melody with a similar energy as the beginning's. However, while still beautiful, it feels much more empty and solemn as he sings his final verse. "I want to spend the rest of my days walking on clouds and just fading away. Sharing, caring, and loving the same. I want to always remember your name."

I think the problem with jordox's round was that he didnt have much ammunition on den. Meaning den doesnt really have anything jordox can call out or insult him on. For example, tomazacre had the situation and drama around him, and madox had a video where he kidnapped stitch which allowed jordox to make an entire detective plot. But den has little to no flaws, making it a lot harder to battle him. Jordox also said his round for the small final he will go all out, which makes me think he just threw this round because he knew he would lose or because he wanted den to win.

It really feels like den and jordox took this competition with a different tone. Jordox was chill, laid back but it wasn’t spectacular, it didn’t make me stand up at any point, it didn’t make me move, it didn’t reach me. I get his lyrics and they are great but this is a competition and the fact that Den came with such a killer vibe and beat only made his track sounds less impressive. Den is displaying his killer instinct and versatility, while also providing a beautiful musical experience. Both are brilliantly talented but I really think it’s the mindset in which they picked what tunes to provide for the competition that separates them. Jordox just want to make music, which I vibe with but in a competition, I want to see the greatest displays of skill, musical arrangement, creativity etc. Not be lulled to sleep. Den came displaying his full killer instincts here which is what I want to see in competition, this is how the bar is raised and beatboxing gets even better. Makes me think of reeps one back in the day. Many people think his opponents did better than him but in the end it was his creativity and musical arrangement, his ability to experiment with new and amazing sounds that over the years turned him into a legend and his opponents into afterthoughts. I think both of these guys, in their own styles, will go on to create some amazing and truly game changing musical pieces. All of the comments I see about Jordox being the better one refer to his lyrics and meaning or his videos story … something that doesn’t carry basically any weight in a beatboxing competition. Maybe that’s jordox’s issue. He is aiming to the wrong crowd in these competitions. He is aiming at people who care about lyrics in a vocal technique competition.

I heard someone else say the really crazy new bass and also the one you commented on like an old man voice might be a bit of vibration bass with poly voice on top of it which is why it sounds filtered. The poly makes total sense, but I'm not sure about the type of bass it is and I don't know if he's said anything about it anywhere yet. **Also with Jordox's voice thing at the end of his round, you can hear him doing a chest thump to get I think polyrhythm?? Or just to create the echo effect if it's not quite polyrhythm.

I think they have originality in there because they dont want people to do covers of other peoples beatbox routines for their rounds, or just use old routines of theirs. So yea its an easy point to get if you create something new, but it means that you kind of have to create something new

I really liked the beginning of Jordox's entry but he kept the same airy and soft sound design for his front against Den which was originally a punchy pop beat. This made the front feel pretty flat and then after he finished the front and did the "same progression" house beat he maintained his airy and soft sound design which made that part also feel flat. Jordox has a great original style and so many great ideas, but I think some of his issues with timing and not adapting his style to fit the dance music beats took away from the impact of this performance. All this aside it was awesome watching him throughout the competition and I'm looking forward to seeing more from him in the future!

I actually agree with madox about the extra point. I dont think it is necessary for the reasons you mentioned in the video. each batter has already been graded on various aspects for all the previous points. sometimes, like in kbb and extra point may be used to break a tie when it comes to points, but then sxin and chezame already mentioned that if there is a tie, then the user voting decides the winner...so im not really sure if this extra point must exist...let me know about what you think

Yeah they gotta rethink the system for next BBU! Still better system then most others, because they are really transparent with their decisions. In other battles you never know why exactly the judges made certain decisions.
@kailashanand5086
@kailashanand5086 2 жыл бұрын
@@Madoxbeatbox yes i wholeheartedly agree. I do however feel that the binary decision making system maybe be a little too stifled. Maybe a little more room can be given so that the battler with slightly better details get rewarded for it. So maybe instead of having it either a score of 0 or 1, it could be 0,1 or 2. So if a certain aspect has been executed pretty well done then it's 1, if it's outstanding or very creative, or any other superlative feeling then it's a 2...and if it's not good at all or if it's sub-par then it's a 0

I think originality point was supposed to be that they didn’t copy any songs to closely, that is why everyone gets the point. Now it has become pointless. I think instead of making this a judging category it should be a rule that you can’t copy another song. So I think they can’t change the definition mid way through competition and maybe they will change it next time. I feel like extra point is somewhat of a cop-out to sway the vote to who they want to progress, which I think enjoyment of listening is kind of doing as well. Since this is the first one ever, Iobviously it doesn’t bother me that much, I just hope they talk to people whom they respect for constructive criticism (like you) to make this judging less ambiguous. No hate, I absolutely love what they are doing here. Big ups to Sxin and Chezame!

No disrespect to Jordox, but these routines aren't even remotely in the same category.

I mean they even give points for originality even if you literally do a cover song...so yeah it's kinda useless :D

Bro I'm tired of seeing "Musicality" when "Singing" is what they meant. Literally, every, time. All beatbox is music.

Except it doesn't just mean singing. Musicality comes into play when the routine is structured like an actual music track. Look at DLow vs B-Art 2019. He had musicality in his rounds, without much singing. Alem, especially in battles, doesn't really have musicality in his routines. He's just a very skilled, technical beatboxer. His routines aren't like full songs (or even demos), but rather a complex section of a song. Hope this helps clarify.

@@SerialNightmare Nope. It's every single time. You hear musicality, they mean singing. All beatbox is music. Whether it's Den, JordoX, Pwad, Dudz, Show go, GTS, Codfish, Bigsquid, Bigman, MB14, Gene, Antilt, Stitch, Wawad, Dlow, Wing, the "musicality" beatboxers are no more musical than non-singers. Look up. "musicality beatbox" they're literally just using the word *musicality* in replacement for singing. You're gonna see 100% singers in the compilations. You won't see any Zer0, Remix, Vocodah, Dropical, Napom, Dilip in *musicality* compilations because they're non singing beatboxers who are indeed 100% music. Once again, *all beatbox is music* The thumbnail says *battle of musicality* It literally means battle of vocal ability. 100% of the BBU has consisted of music.

Beatbox is indeed music, but they divided it into 2 parts for convenience, the technicality and musicality. Musicality in this case is the quality of rhythm, melody or singing within/of the beatbox
