I don't think it was a collab with Warframe, I think they just chose to do it. It turned out so wonderful and I wish it would get more love so thank you for reacting to this one. I will admit I love watching your facial expressions. I'm sad I wasn't able to be a part of this live stream, but i hope to be at the next one. XD I have plans. (that doesn't sound ominous at all does it?)

I love the outro on this one because once they drop the melody (their karaoke track) the beatboxing is just in your face. Dragonborn is amazing! The beatboxing is more subtle to my untrained ear, but the vocals are out of this world. Omar is back for that one.

My favorite game covers they've done is HALO then The Dragonborn Comes. If you notice Cesar's contacts change eyes do be opposite of Omar's. Geoff has the Witcher yellow contacts.

I think the arrangers in VoicePlay are sufficiently confident in their abilities that they like to arrange to really showcase the abilities of the other members. So when Geoff arranges, I think he likes to showcase their guest, Eli, Cesar and Layne to fade into a bit more of a support vocal role, and Layne will really arrange for Geoff, Eli and Cesar (and their featured guests, of course).

It is funny what you say about Geoff being the big strong guy, the alpha. Back when they were doing live performances he said it was always fun to watch the audience when big buff burly Earl came out with super high notes. And then, as he described himself as “the androgynous skinny guy” had the low voice”. In the version of Creep that they did there’s a scene with Geoff singing into the mirror saying he wished he had a perfect body. I don’t think he has a clue just how much presence he has. By all accounts he’s a quiet guy, he likes family time , but he does not come across that way! Geoff and Layne work so well because they are the only remaining original members from back when they were in high school.(I think they graduated in 1997) They met in middle school and Layne talked Geoff into joining the music class. They have a special bond. They are constantly challenging each other both musically and in crazy challenges. They are perfect complements to one another. Geoff is quiet and laid-back and Layne is ….not.😂😂 The poses at the end remind me of action figures. I don’t usually go in for that kind of thing but I might buy a couple of those action figures!!!

To my ear, the melodic Layne-sound at 4:26 sounds to me like it's built on top of overtone - which means a rounder, hollower sound than the one you're doing. I don't understand what he's doing WITH it, (or anything about beatboxing, for that matter) but I do pitched overtone chanting and it sounds to me like that's the base sound, for what it's worth.

To me, the craziest part of Layne's vocal solo is the first two pitches are a G3 and a Bb4. That's not a leap you'd expect to hear. 😮

You ask who my favourite is and I’m like Layne and Geoff, oh but wait Cesar’s right up joint first…oh and Eli for the rock god belts and wow I love this videos collaborator too (ie Omar, Jose, Rachel, Ashley, deejay, j none etc etc)…damn well I guess it’s a 5 way joint first place 😂😂😂 That’s the whole point of voiceplay they work so incredibly well as a group that I can’t imagine it sounding as perfect without any one of the guys.

I think it was in the first interview with the Charismatic Voice that Layne explained how he became the beatboxer for Voiceplay. He figured that they could find another baritone singer quite easily, but a beatboxer would be much harder. So he decided to learn how to beatbox 😃 If I understand correctly they all played around with beatboxing and making all sorts of weird noises back then😃 I think all of them tried to sing subharmonics for a while as well, just for fun 😃But Geoff is the one who's known for his fantastic subs, of course😃 @HuldraDraco may correct me if I'm wrong😃
