Its technically harder for magnus cause the weight isnt distributed plus he is a smaller guy carrying weight rather than just a bigger guy who walks around at that weight
@Camachameleon4 жыл бұрын
also juji is used to that weight he does everyday tasks with that weight and trains with that weight which makes him as usual as magnus in his body
@elijahtingler80444 жыл бұрын
Well kind of, the real reason its u fair is juji weighs that much and most of it is muscle, magnus weighs 150 and just added 80 ibs of dead weight, juji can lift way more than magnus for instance because he has far more muscle mass, but when magnus doesn’t have the weight vest he can do far more pull ups, dips etc., anything that advantages strength to weight ratio. With the 80ib its not really fair at all because they are both at their own strengths still but magnus gained weight. If now magically magnus could curl as much as juji or deadlift or anything that advantages more brute force strength, then it would be even.
@robrobusa4 жыл бұрын
But also easier, because he climbs on the regular. Juji doesn't have the coordination, experience, or the gripping muscles.
@bryann_1104 жыл бұрын
It might be easier for Magnus because the weight isn't distributed. His arms and his legs are not affected by the weight when reaching.
@jordanmartens55914 жыл бұрын
Plot twist! Larger muscles fatigue much faster and don't necessarily output force efficiently. While Juji may have stronger muscles, they will certainly fatigue many times faster, allowing Magnus a significant advantage within the first few minutes of exercise.

I’m rock climbing and hiking outdoors to loose weight. In the last 4 months I’ve lost 50 lbs and am now around 300. Recently I’ve been climbing routes around 5.8. Loosing weight helps a lot, but there is a whole lot to climbing that is psychological and about building confidence. @johnnybouvier31333 жыл бұрын
Man, I just feel like a lot of people don’t realize how much technique is involved in being a good climber, instead of full on muscle. I think so many more people with low confidence could be introduced to and crush this sport if they practice technique. Respect for anyone who’s down to give it a shot, whether or not they think they’re strong enough.

All that extra weight from muscle mass is a real hindrance when climbing and doing pullups. I wish there was a way to see a difference in muscle density between the different athletes. A lighter more dense muscle would be vastly superior when it comes to this kind of stuff. But how much does having big bulky muscles add to strength compared to more dense lean muscle mass?
@FistDaMonkey4 жыл бұрын
I think it depends on the training required for the specific sport. Sprinters have quite a mass on them as well but all they train is explosive strength. A marathon runner with all their lighter and denser muscle mass wouldn't be able to match the explosive dash behind a sprinter. Nor would a bodybuilder who has more muscle mass than a sprinter be able to beat them in a 100 m race.
@stoneprone86293 жыл бұрын
You can train strength and retain lean muscles through repetition, most people push for PR, all big weight training. But long term consistent training at light to moderate weight will grant you the strength without the mass. Train with a 30 lb dumbbell until it’s so light it doesn’t take any effort to lift it. Like picking up a glass of water. You could eventually reach 60lbs and that alone would make you incredibly strong. Not to say bigger weight isn’t great, but if you want to stay lean that’s the idea. The key is much higher reps, but obviously with lower weight than you usually would.
