To reset the value of hue rotate back to zero you can just double click the text 'Hue Rotate' next to the value. This is a little trick that works about everywhere in Resolve.
@JJKaliskiАй бұрын
you can also right click on the point at the curve to reset it

12:57 it would be nice to be able to hold the alt key or something while moving the unwanted points to prevent them from shifting. Like you can in curves. Should be implemented imo
@horizonimagesАй бұрын
Yes! This should be a feature in Resolve. I would suggest the shift key which is a common key for fixing the horizontal (or vertical) movements in many other creative applications.
@JimRobinson-colorsАй бұрын
On the custom curve you can do that by holding the shift key and it locks it to the line and it stays on the line going up and down. Resolve should be more consistent - especially considering the hue vs hue is part of the same tool.

I came to the comments to say the same thing. Would be a great shortcut. Fingers crossed it can be implemented. Have you suggested in the Blackmagic forum?

@ i actually haven’t 😬 We should make a post and all go there and push it

You can hold shift, or just use the number panel as a scrolling input

I appreciate videos like this so much! I have a background in photography and confidently color photos but I've had a hard time transferring and applying that knowledge over to Davinci. This video showed me that I have been overcomplicating/overthinking things. 😊

Really looking forward to the hue vs lum episode, as that one rarely responds as strongly as the HvsH or HvsS tabs in my experience, and I’m curious to see how you approach using it to really impact luminance of certain colors.

Again, Cullen, extremely helpful content! You have demystified that H vs H for me, and now I realize I've been needing it without knowing what it could do. One other great piece of knowledge was your point about the impact of creating/building color contrast with this tool. Thanks for a great video.

Reminds me of using negative luminance! Great video, much appreciated!

I really wish Resolve would let you hold the option key so you don't bump the hue of your anchor like it already does for the custom curves page

Love your videos Cullen! Was wondering if you would be able to make a video on grading a monochrome image? Not necessarily b/w but an image that's one specific color. Thanks!

Is it advisable to run the hue v hue curve parallel to the basic adjustment nodes? Would the hue v hue tool be considered a look development tool?

I have one general question for look building. What exactly is the reason to use the curves over the wheels for look building, especially on a global scale like on timeline level? Is it because the curves give you the possibility to be more precise?

I always my histogram set to output - I want to see what the histogram changes to. I think input is okay if the clip has yet to be edited but once I change it - I want to see what it is after I change it. Especially going from Hue vs Hue to Hue vs Sat ( or any other "vs" ) I want to see the histogram and deal with the changed hues

I understand hue vs. hue from the description, but I can't wrap my head around why the background in the tool itself doesn't show the vertical hue shift. Maybe it would look too much of a mess, but I still find it counterintuitive representation.

For a while now, I've noticed that your audio is distorting in the peaks. Are you using too much gain on the mic side or compressing too hard before a limiter maybe? Is it something with your audio interface that you're plugging that lav into?

Maybe if cared enough to write proper English and ask nicely, you would get an answer on all the many channels I've seen you comment the exact same line.
