This is easily one of the best beginner videos on nodes I’ve seen, across many different learning and video content platforms 👏👏 Dude, you could lean in and make a super SUPER beginner course around this as your key info. The way this is explained is perfect

Hi! Thnaks for sahring I have the exact same setting here: Project setting - color management YRGB > DW wide intermediate > rec 709-A I assume that rec709-A because of the macbook. However, my CST looks like this >SonyS gamut 3cine > SonySlog3>rec709>rec709 (no gamma 2.4 ) - if I change rec709 to rec709 gamma2.4 i can;t see the difference , not on the timeline , not after exporting it (viewing it on apple mac) Is there a difference ( rec 709 vs recd 709 gamma 2.4 in Output Gamma ) after uploading it to Instagram / KZbin ? I hope I am making myself clear P.S.: I edit on my macbook pro without an external monitor

Absolutely love your videos bro extremely helpful! Quick question for you on the positioning and structure. I just saw a newer video you posted title "BEST Node Tree for DaVinci Resolve 19 | Visionary PowerGrades V5.0" the order of the nodes were different and it seems like color management was placed earlier than here is there a specific reason for that?

Thanks man! The color management ODT node in front is to put the grade into a working color space. Watch this video to know more COMPLETE Tutorial for Davinci Wide Gamut | DaVinci Resolve Tutorial kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqmaqaGoh8ZkiNE

Good stuff! How does one get ideas and create different looks like the gold look you talked about? Is it taught someplace or does one just play around with different settings to discover new looks? Having a good grasp of the color palette and color positions on the color wheel would help I guess.
@DannyGan7 ай бұрын
Yes and yes, you must first know how to analyse a grade, really break it down to hue, saturation and contrast levels. Being exposed to more looks does help also, whether it's films, commercials or photos.

I have a question! So, I have always "sandwiched" my grades to work within dwg/aces but you work with the camera's log instead and skip that extra node. Is it for more efficiency? Is that always the case/ best practice? I'm curious! I appreciate videos that show the practical use aka the "but why that choice" answer so I thank you for sharing!
@DannyGan7 ай бұрын
Yes, you can sandwich it if you wish to work in DWG, there’s a lot more techniques you can apply but this is a rough framework of the processes. I might make a separate video on DWG & working color spaces.

Wow thanks for the great tutorial! Can you please make a video about a Node Tree Workflow when you use DaVinci WG/Intermediate workspace? That would be awesome!
@Ptera.productions3 ай бұрын
But one more question: should you put everything in the "sandwich"? Even the Film Print LUT? It always been the only node I had outside of my DaVinci WG sandwich

Hi Danny, is your course updated for DR 19? I know it shouldn't be a crazy difference from 18 but i was curious.
@DannyGan5 ай бұрын
All the tools and lessons in my course are future-proof. Any additional tools in DR19 won’t affect the fundamental principles. But with that said, I’m working on adding more lessons for my students!

What do I do if I don't have the paid version , like what would I add upstream after the cst

It would be the same, this is a general framework for any node tree
