Pro Doorslammer Class at Doorslammers 2018 - Santa Pod Raceway

The headline class at the Doorslammers 2018 event was 'Pro Doorslammers'. This was effectively a no rules, heads up racing class on a pro tree.
With a £20k prize pot and £10k going to the winner the competition was fierce with 14 entrants from 4 nations, there could only be one winner!

The fast Freddy burn outs are too much. This track has so much glue and no rubber !! The guys keep doing big burn outs down the center of the groove? Instead of moving over to widen the groove. There’s so much glue it’s showing you how under powered these cars are🤣

It's a shame our tracks aren't good enough for them to to full runs might as well have half the power and do a full run.

Philip Monaghan The track is good enough, I think because this is the first time pro mods had run on the new strip they were just finding what they could get away with in terms of clutch set up. Take a look at this weekends Main Event Pro Mod qualifying results 7 of the field have run 6.0 or below and many have run PBS already.

I’m not trying to talk smack but come on!! Obviously the track is super tight with a extremely narrow groove. There doesn’t seem to be much rubber out there by the look of the wet looking glued part. You would want to run a new tire and a smaller roll out tire. You would want to shorten your burn out up and move over for the burn out. All these guys keep doing dazzling burn outs through the center putting too much heat in the tire and making the track extra grippy right where you want to take off.
