I'm convinced he will. It's not always obvious and needs to be pointed out. We had a similar situation in UK recently. It's taken a _long_ time to get the message across that it was necessary to get the Tories out - and that that could only happen by getting Labour in. Reform (the radical choice) wasn't an option in many constituencies so splitting the vote among the minor parties was a very real possibility, again. Thanfully it worked - altough we're all questioning to what end after only 100 days already!

When I was homeless and shooting fentanyl, crack & meth in San Francisco back in 2017, the cops would be 5 feet away from me and wouldn't do anything because the laws that the dems made, they couldn't do anything to stop me. Thank God I got arrested in the next county over that had harsher laws so that when I got caught, I actually wanted to change. I am sober now thanks to that. That same police officer that arrested me was watching over me when I got sober. I actually got pneumonia during my time of getting sober. I almost died, and the only reason I lived was because the officer found me and carried me to the hospital. Anyone that thinks illegal immigration is ok answer me this. If everyone in India wanted to come the US ,THATS 1.5 billion people. With a B. That would be ok? If you say no then you realize there’s a limit. If you say yes then our countries population increases 5X. It needs to be regulated.

Does he not care about his fellow citizens that he would put his personal feelings above the welfare of the country? If this country goes belly-up we all go belly-up with it, regardless of Party, sex, color, race, etc. How did we ever get so personally prideful?

I'm from the Bay area (Mountain View) and SF is worse than the media portrays-parking lots with guards, strung out zombies on drugs, naked people in the streets-its disgusting and it just doesn't feel safe. I used to love SF and now I don't even recognize it. Fun Fact-San Francisco's Tadich Grill is the oldest, continuously run restaurant in California, and third oldest in the United States!

Our 2 party oligarchy system is the reason people vote 3rd party. Lets actually see our electoral college work when we have 3 candidates on the debate stage. The regulation that the CPD has on the polling requirement to be on the debate stage makes it virtually impossible. The only requirement for any party to be on the debate stage is to be on the ballot in all 50 states. That's it. Libertarians have done that the last 2 elections. Why aren't they on the debate stage? Our election system is a joke. We have a uniparty system.

Long time IV heroin user here. When I ran out damn right, I'm gonna steal to keep from getting sick, and I did many, many times. Thank God I'm from a republican state, GA, and when I got caught in my stupidity, I did over a year for a possession charge. I'm thankful for strict laws it saved my life. I did relapse one time for a few weeks and overdosed on fentynyl mixed in with some brown Mexican heroin. I then decided to get sober. This election is personal to me. We have got to stop the fentanyl. We need cheaper groceries!

I'm completely pro-gun, however more guns don't always solve everything, because the bad guys have them too. All guns do is give you a fighting chance, so that if you shoot first and/or have better aim you get to live in a bad situation. Charlie is right that we need to stop crime altogether, not just have everyone have a gun. I never leave my home without a firearm, but it makes me feel sad a lot of the time that I have to carry the weight of that responsibility on me because other people around me can't be trusted not to be insane criminals.

I agree that trying to get a 3rd party option is not a waste of time and if we just resign ourselves to vote for the "best of the worst" every time, then nothing will ever change (or just get more polarizing). We need a 3rd voice in how we are governed, but for now it is only "red" vs "blue" though it seemed this young man was able to process the conversation and be smarter for it. Even if he won't walk away fully on-board w/ Charlie.

@@JesseDrift its been the most important election every single year i've been alive...i've heard that argument about 3rd parties forever. IT WILL NEVER END. the 2 party system is designed to make it more importanter ever time, it drives extremis aren't you tired of buying into the con that gives you redman vs blueman forever? if you want to vote for redman, do it. i'm going to as well but lets not pretend that's somehow better or more important than not having a locked up fugazi democracy where they hand pick 2 people for us every year. I'm voting for trump simply because he isn't one of theirs...the GOP has admitted outsiders reluctantly ...didnt stop them from trying to vomit nikki haley on my shoes at full force. if they had done that again, i'd be voting libertarian too on principle

It seems like Charlie is conflating legalization with decriminalization. The issue with Oregon and San Francisco is that their soft on crime . Decriminalization does not make drugs legal. It simply means you will not go to jail for it.
