It should be approx. the SCTE holes, but I always center the wheel wells. Keep in mind your SCT410 kit cam with all those extra angled body posts. They help to get the body perfect

For some reason, going counter clockwise works for me, as you saw in the video. I also have a pretty firm hand on the product and the tool.
@donrowe71945 жыл бұрын
i know this video is very old but a trick i found was to get little pieces of aluminum screen and use either e3000 or shoe goo and glue the pieces of screen over the openings that get cut in the body. believe it or not the screen and the glue help strenghten the body while still keeping the openings for airflow.

Great tip! Thanks. One question about trimming the complete body. What do you advise which tool is the best to use for trimming a lexan body? I always use a curved Tamiya scissor for cutting out the wheel openings. Is it better to use a knife or doesn't it matter?

Nice vid. Definately takes some practice using a dremel. I've had one slip cutting with my mastercraft dremel tool. Ended up getting some stitches from a nasty cut on my left index finger, ouch!! Its still a good way to use a dremel, especially cutting thick lexan

I haven't ran it yet, probably next week. I did some testing on the Slash project, so that took up a lot of time at the track this week!

you should sand the edges down and sharpie it for it to look optimal

Yep, sanded them down, but don't have the patience for the sharpie

Hey RCNetwork, have you ever used JConcepts overtray on a Slash? Wondering the best way/ place to cut for cooling but small enough, or gridded to keep larger particals out.
@TheRCNetwork10 жыл бұрын
A long time ago, on my first Slash, I did. I ended up cutting holes that was tsrategic for the cooling (mostly for the ESC/Motor and then cut screen mesh and shoe-gooed it in from the under side.

so how do you like the evo body? thinking of trying it out for my sc10.2. right now im testing out the JC nissan titan hiflow body. and it makes the truck feel really planted and stable. but still has a little bit of parachuting.

i bought a cordless 8220 dremel just for this, hopefully I can be as steady as you are while cutting the lexan body. Thanks for the video. Question - what tools / techniques do you use to cut your lexan bodies?
@TheRCNetwork10 жыл бұрын
To score the body, just a sharp xacto knife, then peel the excess. I just got some PROTOform tools to fine tune edges and the wheel wells
@carrot36810 жыл бұрын
The RCNetwork maybe I am not skillful enough, but I tried using the scoring method....with thinker lexan bodies...kind of hard, for me, to do that. Using lexan scissors doesn''t give a nice cut..
@TheRCNetwork10 жыл бұрын
Scoring really works the best. You don't have to score too deep. Once it's scored, I start the year by using lexan scissors and then rip the lexan slowly.
@carrot36810 жыл бұрын
The RCNetwork good idea. Thanks. I'll try that. Lead the cut with the scissors.

Can you remember what was the colour of silver in the middle? It looks titanium or champagne?
@TheRCNetwork3 жыл бұрын
It was Pactra's Indy Silver, but the color change was due to the backing color, that was likely the Red
