Bought one of them and it is very nice but the lexan is very thin/ the motor detail is the hardest thing to mask up from the inside of the shell, infact it's nearly impossible to get it masked up correctly in order to paint the rest of the body shell. It will take you at least 12 hours to trim the shell and get the wheel arches and all of the cut outs done, then sanding the edges for a smooth finish. Then time to mask up another 2 hours, paint well pending on detail it will take at least another 2 - 3 hours before it's a finish product. Wish it was precut and masks for the engine bay. Decals are not precut so there is another few more hours of work. Finished product looks good but the time it takes to prep for paint is far too long

How do I achieve the paint thats on the bug body

To start of, mask off entire body, i used liquid mask. Cut out flames and peel them out. Paint pro-line candy purple in the flame area lightly. peel the rest of the mask and paint it all pro-line candy red (yes even on top of the candy purple flame area). Get House of Kolor metal flake www.amazon.com/Silver-Mini-Flake-Mf-2-6-Ounce/dp/B00397CMJI mix with pro-line flat finish clear paint and paint the whole body(doesnt take much metal flake maybe a teaspoon for the whole bottle of clear). back it all up with pro-line aluminum then black and you are done. good luck...its honestly one of the easiest paint jobs i have ever done. cheat code: use a 20 dollar touch up gun from harbor freight to get even wet candy coats of candy.

Looks FANTASTIC...but, how does it perform? That's the question a LOT of people want to know. Could have the best/most-unique body anyone has seen...but, if it can't perform well, it won't even be worth the plastic bag it's packaged in

After 40+ years in the hobby, my observation is, the weakest link is usually the driver(pilot).....That goes for 1:1 racing vehicles too, which was my vocation for 30 years😎

@@ruftime Not always true. As I'm sure you know, aerodynamics plays A HUGE part in a vehicle's Performance...and, even moreso when dealing with vehicles this light. It doesn't matter whether one is trying to go fast on land, in the air, or on water - if there's problems in the aerodynamics, the end-results could be disastrous.

@@robbryan3044 well, that is true to some point.. if you look at the fpv drones, they should not fly at all from Aero point of view but almost all of them fly great, tune is what sets apart excellent drone from low performing one.. and, afcourse, pilot is very important 😊
