Great job recording! Excellent field of Promod in the NHRA, these cars are quick....too fast to run 1/8th mile not much to see in only 660ft but thank God for NHRA Promod doing it on the full 1/4mile.

Thanks Robin for the video. Pro Mods don't get the coverage they deserve. No need to move the bikes down just expand the big show.

Am I the only one who wants NHRA to move the motorcycles down and promote Pro Mod to the big show?
@BigBoyO569 жыл бұрын
No you are not the only one brother.

2BaDkArMa1 I'm torn on that whole thing honestly. On one hand I say "hell yeah - I'd even go as far as to bump the NHRA pro stocks, bikes and alcohol funny cars (which they don't even show on TV so why bother) for the pro mods". On the other hand, there's something very cool about PM's being a little bit underground. It's kind of a protected class for regular guys that love to race. Granted, they're rich guys that love to race - but something about "big brother" NHRA taking the whole thing over would take a little of the small town cool factor out of it. I dunno - does anyone even understand what I'm saying ? It's kind of like when you're favorite underground band sells out and goes mainstream - starts recording top 40 shit....lol.

Glitch Ya I hear you. Never thought of it like that. PM does have that underground feel. And if big brother does take over PM would that mean the end of all the small town races, the end of the ScSn in Vegas?

Glitch NHRA standardizing everything, you mean? At least that's what I'm interpreting it as. They'd probably end up standardizing engine sizes, body styles, transmissions, etc. Like how Pro Stock is. I'll be honest, there's a few Pro Mods here that surprised me a bit, such as the gray Charger, the Cadillac CTS-V, and the Chevelles. ...Now I wonder if I could build a Bill Thomas Cheetah to run with these guys. Lots of engineering work and body work to be done, though, because the wheelbase and body would have to be lengthened... Myeh. I'm too broke anyways. @.@

SabreMetalPanzer Yeah, ...that's exactly what I mean, not to mention the fact that it would become just like top fuel where 16 teams are all you'd ever see or hear about anymore. There'd be huge sponsorship's, craft services catering tables for the crew, convoy's of 18 wheeler's with all the sponsors ad's on it - you get the picture. I think I prefer it the way it is. Also, what I didn't know is NHRA indeed does have a pro mod class, they just don't run at the big events so you never see or hear about them.

NHRA would tighten the gap with NASCAR if the Sunday race were packed with the following: T/F, F/C, P/S, PSM, P/M, TA/D, TA F/C So pull in pro mod along with alcohol cars to the pro classes and move the rest of the sportsman classes to an entirely different race. The fuel cars dont need as much turnaround time as they used to and with the added classes it would give them enough time. Have intermission if needed after semi finals. I know sportsman classes wouldnt like this but it WOULD make NHRA a higher level sport. What they are doing now would be the same as NASCAR cutting the length of their races to a fraction and blending in a bunch of other classes from top level down to something built in the backyard.

Michael Burris i would also go full 1/4mile for T/F & N/FC....then i would only run Prostock bike at 14 events a year & the races they dont run put in Extreme 10.5 full 1/4mile tho, no 1/8th mile....every class 1/4mile.....tho i hate the small 10.5 rubber on a race car it would be simply a strategic move...i cant understand why these assholes at NHRA just sitback & act like they dont have a clue on dragracing around the world....NHRA would gain the whole 10.5 crowd of fans plus we get to see them run full 1/4mile...this alone would help kill alot of these 1/8th mile racers & there fans from slamming NHRA...at one point everybody respected NHRA but now if you go to alot of grudgeraces & 660ft events around the states you will hear nothing but people cursing NHRA if you try to talk about it....

Also am I the only one who wants NHRA to ban the timedthrottlestop in the .90 classes????? They can reformat that stuff by banning the timedthrottlestop & given a weight & cubic inch limit in 8.90, 9.90 & 10.90!!!!!
