Yeah thats pretty much my reaction. Marshall is absolutely insane and makes this sound so effortless. Im not sure because i havent played it, but if i had to take a stab in the dark i expect that this is harder than puddle jumping by a decent amount haha. (I'm Lukas by the way, we met at a choir concert a while back)

It's been a while. I remember when Marshall entered the ensemble at Juilliard. It was 2006 perhaps and he came in playing like The Wrath of God. I'm always amazed each and every time I hear him!

What he does when he goes up high he points his airflow down to the lower part of the cup and when he goes lower he directs the air through the centre. Also he is playing a small bore straight tenor which helps his airflow up in the top register.

Fyi: The first Trumpet is called Brandon Ridenour. He did play with Canadian Brass until 2022 (? don't quote me on that). He's an absolute beast too. His stuff with "Founders" is great. 2nd Trp is Ethan Bensdorf from NY Philharmonic. So yes...I would guess, everyone of those "support guys" are top notch alphas in their own right.

I made a similar "stank face" the first time I heard this piece, and most of his videos specially Puddle Jumping! I thought of myself as a specialist in flexabilities until I heard Marshal!
