Do they protest also aginst violation in e.g. Ukraine? Where the third year of war has been begun already and at leat 1 million people are dead. Or they are interested only in Palestine? If so, why such a selectivity? May be or no that someone pays for this for propaganda purposes? And students Much easier to shout anti Israeli slogans and get not a big pocket money rather than to work as e.g. barman.

Part of the problem here is that people who protest against the killing of innocent (whether intended or not) are mixed up with people who do literally want to eliminate Jews. I think some of the comments made here are smarter than what I've seen covered elsewhere, wherein some Palestinian protestors are at least trying to distinguish this important point. The protestors have to be clear that they pose no oppression on people who are Jewish, that they recognize that it was terribly wrong what Hamas did to innocent lives in Israel, but that they want the attack on Gaza to stop so that no more innocent lives are lost. They clearly have no way to force Hamas to give up their hostages (whom in my opinion are probably already dead, but I hope not). But people who declare themselves as Palestinian need to also condemn Hamas and other terrorist organizations. THAT would be a powerful statement, and a powerful action, and it would make for some much greater acceptance. But there are those mixed up with these crowds who are communists and socialists and bigots who are using this to their own political advantage.
