easy ways to start a fire: -use a match -flint and steel -throw rocks at a farm apparently...

I always use battering rams against the farms honestly. Starts the fire far quicker.

Hoyl damn what a game! That is why Hera is the GOAT. Being down so much all the time, defending, scouting with the one spear, losing so many vils but always choosing the right ressource, defensive towers, skirms.. @@why_wait No for this particular challenge Viper counted only certain actions like clicking units and ordering them to move, attack, building something.. but creating units was not counted. That would be really stupid. But I agree it is not a suited format for pro play. it is a gimmick challenge run.

I like the uniqueness of LimitedViper but dont have much interest in doing it myself. I’d rather push myself to greater limits (1v4s etc) than restrict myself artificially

As an 1800 this makes me sick. You're in the top few percent, you feel like you're most of the way there - but it turns out you're still so far from optimal play your opponent can idle for 3 mins and still win.

@@sigurdtheblue Agreed. Even against Hera, this game was super close. It's just wild how big the differences between top players are, whether between top 5 and top 20, or top 100 and top 500 - bearing in mind even top 1000 will beat around 99% of online players.

Dude, this game was SO sick! Massively enjoyed it! His micro was top-notch in the first half, but as soon as you got into Mangudai and pressured his base, it fell off and you took over. I think both of you learned a lot about each other's play style in this game, and I can't wait for the next one!

22:35 I really do think this is the only mistake red made. He went up, probably to kill off some vills but got caught by a spawning mangonel (with alucky hit perhaps) and he could not put thepressure on that he needed. He put up a good fight afterwards but already lost from there on. You have your skirms, castle almost done and a tower near the lumbercamp. That was the GG. His pressure was gone.

The closer you get to the top, the better you have to be, so there is very, very big difference beetween someone that's better than 95% of players and someone that is better than 99% or 99.9%. Don't quote me on this, but doesn't ~1400 Elo in AOE2 already put you among the top 5%? Pretty sure that the guy Hera fought is well above 95%

Hera decides on the elo of people in the most interesting way. If someone is 1500 team elo 900 single, he is 1500. If he is 1500 single, 900 team, also 1500 player. This is somehow 1700, despite having 1604 single and 1500 team elo

Dravidian pikeman with elephant archers desdroys mongol magodai siege. Especially once you get that imp tech that ignores armor. And cause lephant have passive heal, they never die and get too close and you get destroyed by the habs/pikes. With the ignore armor tech, pikemans wins against champions.

I probably wouldn't say that was a great game. That was one of the dirtiest games I've seen in a while. Went for three minutes idle, attack your farms, knew what your unit composition would be for early scouting, that was pretty dodgy. The only thing I can complement on is that the player didn't go after your sheep in that early three minutes. You won because of your skill, in spite of the handicaps and the dirty play. Well done dude.
