Michael "shroud" Grzesiek (born June 2, 1994) is a retired Canadian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player of Polish descent. He is from Toronto, Ontario, but has since relocated to Orange County, California, in the United States. He is currently a Full-Time streamer on Mixer.
Mike "shroud" Grzesiek has been playing since the launch of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. He rose to prominence through the popularity of his twitch stream as well as his talent in the game which he displayed in ESEA-M with Slow Motion and then with Exertus and Manajuma in ESEA Invite. He is mostly known for his lurking and clutching ability, as well as his weapon accuracy. After his time in Manajuma, he was acquired by compLexity Gaming as a stand-in, replacing Todd "anger" Williams. Upon compLexity being acquired by Cloud9 on August 1st 2014, he was signed as a permanent player like the rest of his teammates. His most successful professional career was with teammates Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham, Jacky 'Jake' "Stewie2K" Yip, Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert, Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir, Sean "seang@res" Gares. Shroud was the second longest standing member of the team alongside Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert until they were both benched and replaced by William "RUSH" Wierzba and Tarik "tarik" Celik in August of 2017. It was announced that he stepped down from the lineup, as he wanted to become a backup player and full time streamer for Cloud9, although at this point he had already decided to retire from the game. In April of 2018, he had officially announced his retirement from playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professionally. In addition to this, he decided to leave Cloud9 to explore new opportunities.

@@javiehr shroud does not sync his sens. If you look at kovaaks sens coverter he always is 0.2 of. Even then the fov in games is diffrent which wil also throw of your aim when you change small distances.

Shroud has stated many times he doesn't believe hes as good as hes made out to be. He thinks he should be known for being able to pick up any FPS and be instantly "good" at the game from experience. IMO that guy is going to go down as one of the best ever FPS players. Alot of the so called "best" stick with 1 game CS/COD etc... Mike can do it all and then some.

That's what makes Shroud great. His adaptability is probably the highest of any fps players. No doubt he's going down as one of the best fps players

Yeah, Shroud's capability is what makes him a great overall gamer. But once he hits the top competition of a particular game, he can't handle it. Might be because he's focused on streaming, but his performance has been evidenced before he was famous. ​He never really got any top-tier highlights like s1mple, zywoo, woxic, xantares, niko, and so many others that did and have done. Because Shroud wasn't at that level, he was mediocre in terms of professional level. Everyone knew n0thing and skadoodle were much better, including brax, in cloud9. Shroud was never an outstanding player (his performance at tournaments wasn't really that special whatsoever, hence why stewie2k said that shroud was dragging the team down and cloud9 needed a better player). He just got lucky with those no-scopes (which are pure luck anyway), that made it to the top of the subreddit of CSGO. Apart from that, unfortunately, no good real highlights from him (maybe 1 or 2, but that's it). Comparing his CSGO highlights with other top players at the time, nothing special, but that's partly because it's NA (I mean, overall, NA players are way worse than EU players lol). Sad to see Jordan go from the competitive scene tho. Such an asset. My man needs the same recognition as shroud got.
