Worked for a Trane, Rheem, and York dealer all had their problems. The main thing I learned was proprietary parts equal big money and bigger headaches. Goodman is my bottom of the barrel given parts quality and backorder issues. Trane actually brags about the zinc adapter between their copper and aluminum which they say is supposed to last 20-30 years (It leaks all the time.).

All machines break. It's all about how quick we can get it back up and running. To me Goodman has gone up in quality since Daikin bought them. Their biggest issue is the same issue I have with Rheem, anyone can buy them so when they aren't installed correctly the equipment gets blamed instead of the installer.

I always try to sell people the 15-17 seer2 from Carrier. Yeah their warranty process is such a hassle and their non existent customer support but their equipment is so cut and dry. They are the only manufacturer that has an actual app to where I can scan and get a list of parts. Lennox not too bad as their system is also easy to install. Never seen an actual high efficiency unit but their Dave Lennox Series line is decent. Amana is also mid grade stuff. I like the way they look and feel but their stock is always so limited. The good ole Goodman is where I learn all my mistakes and practice from. I usually can practically just listen to them run and know the issue. Cut and paste product. They have too many different options when choosing as sometimes I see the same exact unit and specs but there is like 5 model numbers. Confusing.

I'm surprised Mitsubishi is so low on the lists and that you just flew over it. They almost never break. In Camada Mitsubishi and Daikin are by far the top brands. Super reliable and efficient. Carrier here just breaks all the time and is widely hated by service techs. Maybe some of these brands dont work so well in colder conditions?

Maybe. We have totally different climates between us that's probably why I don't see as much Mitsubishi as you

None of them build reliable equipment anymore. It is average at best or worse. Some are worse than others. Been on a steady decline since the early 2000s. Hit a steep slide downwards in 2010. Everything inside all machines now is made in foreign countries in order to cut costs, not increase quality. Doesn't matter how good the install is when the guts of the unit are made cheaply. A good install definitely helps, but there will still be failures. Capacitors, contactors, thermistors, defrost thermostats, ecm blowers, boards, transducers, pressure switches, TXVs, and the list goes on. With that being said, everything will eventually break that is mechanical or electrical, but those failure rates have gotten worse over the years. Manufacturers can't make 30 billion plus per year making quality and durable equipment. Mitsubishi does have a full size air handler. It has 1" insulation inside it and looks like the plastic air handler by Trane. Can't remember the model number, but I quoted one to a customer several years back. You can pair it with the 20 SEER horizontal discharge inverter heat pump outside. Very quiet machines. Ferguson sells them around me. Great video. Solid points. Stay safe out there man.

I didnt know that about Mitsubishi, I'm gunna have to look that up. I agree, all machines break doesn't matter how expensive they are. The only way for a customer to protect themselves from extra cost is to purchase a labor warranty. Daikin has the 12 year parts and 12 year labor warranty and that protects them from everything for 12 years including gradual labor cost increases. Last time I looked lennox offered a 10 year labor warranty but I can't be 100% sure.

@@WorldofHVAC York comes with a 10 year labor warranty. My buddy is a Trane dealer and he sells a 10 year labor warranty with his systems at a minimal cost to the customer. Few hundred dollars is all. The Trane warranty is transferrable to a new owner if the paperwork is submitted. We just got a Daikin dealer here. The supply house that picked up Daikin ditched York and Bosch and went with Daikin and Goodman as their brand now. That supply house seems to change brands every 5 years or so. They used to sell Tempstar and Samsung. We have tons of Goodman dealers here already and a couple of Amana dealers as well. Place is flooded with them.

@JakePorterHVAC check that out. I didn't know other manufacturers were offering it. Good for the customers. Still wouldn't buy a York though lol

@@WorldofHVAC LOL. Any which way you go now, is a shot in the dark. Rheem and Ruud have them too. I was selling Ruud for awhile. Cost me almost $1,200 for a 10 year heat pump labor warranty. The labor warranty is the new gimmick now. Insurance companies are making money on the poor quality equipment being sold and the contractor takes the hit on the low ball labor rates paid back to them. Insurance companies and banks don't lose money. They make it hand over fist. Just happened upon your channel and have seen a couple videos now. Keep up the good content. Best wishes. Stay safe out there.
