They're not wasting their paint. In speedball, one of the most fundamental skills -- and parts of the game for that matter -- is shooting a "lane". The incoming paint denies movement for either team across the field, and forces you (and your opponent) to play AROUND these lanes. Stay below the paint bro, and have fun :)

I believe you're bothered by the paintballs that are left lying on the ground, those that are thrown away with the pod...wasted paint is part of speedball... It became a part of the game because in speedball you can't spend time worrying about these things or else you might get shot...

It’s to grid the field properly for the layout so the bunkers mirror each side and each bunker is placed in the correct spot per the layout on paper.

It’s still a protected color this was a throwback jersey design to their Miami effect days. They couldn’t play both nxl and nppl so at the time they turned into infamous and covered the nxl logo back then.
