Love the rainy fishing! Spinnerbait is hard to beat in the rain.

I'm with you all the way. Rainy day fishing is my absolute favorite. I always seem to catch a lot, there's less pressure from other people, and I just find it so peaceful being out in nature during a steady rain. I generally start off throwing a spinnerbait in the rain and then top water with a walking bait or buzzbait. I've also done pretty well at times going super simple with something like a larger curly tail grub on a ball head swimbait jig.

My son and I went last weekend in the pouring rain and had a blast using a Ned rig. We used the Zman TRD green pumpkin. And like you said we were all alone on the lake with the water to ourselves!

I went out this morning and caught 5 in the pouring rain. 4 on a fluke shallow. And one 5lb’r on white spinnerbait in the Lilly pads! Awesome content as always! You make us weekend anglers keep an open mind! 💪

Theres a neighborhood lake spillway a few miles down the road from me that fish school at every time it rains enough to get a good current. Throw a green pumpkin football jig in there & often get at least a 2lber! 10 fish & 2 broken off in less than 2 hrs!

I've killed em on a simple swim jig in Minnesota during a good rain. I honestly think I could throw just about anything and catch em good when it's raining.

You are absolutely on point. I love to fish on steady rainy days. Great fishing on those days. My wife looks at me with crisscross eyes when I want to get on the water; especially in the summer with rain expected all day. You mentioned getting up on the banks and getting a little shallower.‘ I believe it’s because the rainfall cools down the upper 1-6 ft of water and it gets more oxygenated due too the water turbulence. Much like water oxygenating. I will work rip rap around bridges with smaller square bills and wiggle warts. I also like to just run up under bridges put on the spot lock and use a drop shot or shakey head and fish those bridge pillars. I’m always find bass in 15-25ft holding tight too those pillars willing to hit those on the fall. Key....purchase excellent technical rain gear and don’t be afraid of soaking your boat, equipment, etc. It’s a boat; it’s designed to get wet.
