This man was very very special to the surf world especially Hawaiian surf culture. RIP Ben Aipa I feel like it was a honor to grow up being younger seeing you come around every so often at Hookipa beach park. You really deserve so much respect for what you did for surfing. I will forever have upmost respect for the Aipa name.

Incredible history!! One of the most radical surfers/shapers, a legend in and out of the water, and an inspiration to so many people. Ben reminds me of what the sport of surfing is all about, fun. His history, legacy, and aloha will be with us forever.

Grew up with Ben in the rough area of Mayor Wright housing, Kalihi Palama. He was a year ahead of me in school and when I came back from four years in the Marines, he was a legend already! So happy for him and what he accomplished with his life! Right on, braddah!

Why did I have to be born in Ohio!?! Nen your reputation is unmatched. Just made my first blank and I'm shaping it up right now. You're an inspiration. Need an apprentice?
