Any language she sings, she is the ultimate Queen, still today at 54yo, she owns the stage with her voice, beauty and performance, in an other league by herself Lara Fabian is certainly one of the most complete artists of the beginning of this century. Recognised as such from Montreal to Moscow by way of Paris. It's sad that, the USA has not followed the career of this incredible artist, author, composer and performer

“Je suis Malade”, now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973. This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …). When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and composed the music in a couple of hours. The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes. Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad. But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s. At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet during his own Paris concert in January 1995. It was a triumph. So he sat in a front row seat and asked her to sing it again alone. Lara also had made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power. Serge and Lara became good friends and performed several other duets later on. Being that she really went through something like this in her personal life makes it not only easier to embody but it lends more emotional weight to her performance. Lastly this is a truly great performance however check out this song live in 2003. There are 2 standout moments in that performance. The A Cappella she does there is jaw dropping to say the least.

Dear Esjaetv: Just as a side note, Dimash has often said that Lara Fabian has long been one of his personal inspirations. His admiration for this wonderful singer is long standing and he has even been able to perform with Lara in a song composed by Igor Krutoy. I'm certain that by now you know that Igor Krutoy is a famous Russian composer who had been retired from the music scene until the evening that he attended on of Dimash's concerts. As a result , he came out of retirement so that he might work almost exclusively with Dimash.

It is song of Serge Lama, the singer/compositor french. Once, Serge Lama dinning with his friend who used to write lyrics for Serge's songs. Serge complained about having a complicated relationcheap, the girlfriend who appeared and disappeared as shes pleasure.. The next day Serge's friend presented him with the text about it, and Serge wrote the song and sang it. Lara liked the song and sang it in femeal version. (french tv sourse)

"Je suis Malade" ( I am sick ).........if I gave my love, my talent, my life to someone who didn't care, I'd also feel the absolute despair the singer portrays here......this is a French classic ( not written by Lara ) but Lara's interpretation is, IMO, the 'gold standard'........please watch the end....Lara is emotionally drained from her performance
