Danke! Congratulations to the 10k, Bandrew! If you needed any positive proof of how valuable you and your channel are, there you are! For me personally I can say that I enjoyed every minute of the content I watched and listened to. Not only on this channel but on your other channels, too. It is always fun and educational and I learn something new each time. Thank you, Bandrew!

Nice! Additionally, lav mics in wigs or hairlines enable stage actors to change costumes without having to worry about their mics. Fun fact, transmitters are sometimes put in non lubricated condoms to keep them safe from actor sweat...

Still a great product! Thanks Bandrew! Short question: the one thing that’s not discussed a lot in mic, or podcast video’s is how to deal with cross talk and phasing microphones when you record conversations. I tend to keep it simple with a good gate on each mic. Although it sounds best, it doesn’t sound awesome like a recording with a single mic. Gating removes the liveliness and micro interactions and that’s something I’m interested to include in my sound. Also, not using a gate might also ease the post production effort (riding the gate as somebody moves and varies their energy). What are your experiences, or perhaps tips for great videos on the topic of cross talk? Keep it up!

As a fellow musician (insert drummer joke here), I use the Westone AM Pro X30 IEMs as a switch-hitter for stage and for video monitoring. The "AM" in the name stands for ambient, as in, they don't 100% isolate and allow you to hear a bit of the room through the buds. This also FEELS much more open on your head. With traditional IEMs I used to play with only one monitor in until I discovered these little gems. Expensive, but may be exactly what you're looking for with IEMs for video/podcast monitoring.

Concerning monitoring with earphones: There are open back products, which don't have that "hearing yourself louder when inserted" problem. I built a pair myself for my commute travel to not miss train announcements, but there is a slew of commercial products. The majority I see are Chifi (Hifi from China; e.g. KZ "Ling Long"), but traditional audio companies such as Sony (e.g. LinkBuds) have offerings too =) Also thank you for your time laps montage of your podcast journey. That was very enjoyable to watch =)

28:55 it should be noted that anything Bluetooth a.k.a. AirPods has a ridiculous amount of delay and that will throw people off a lot so there's good reasons why those aren't being used. It's like talking into an echo chamber it can actually mess with your head and affect your speech.
@meistudiony9 ай бұрын
Just gotta add one thing. Most mics only sound bad when compared to something directly. Neither the over boom or the lav mic sounded bad for speech. Would never use for someone singing (unless its a stage kind of thing) but as SSPD said, you need to do some work in post (or on the mixer for live) to make the sound more acceptable. The 7b over boomed doesn't sound bad at all. Could have used a little EQ in the upper mid range, but otherwise, sounded fine.

@thestupendouschumley9 ай бұрын
Is your noise more so from the SM7B or the Universal interface? Or is it just a combination of both being cranked? One more question, if my mic has a -10db pad...will engaging it allow me to get more 'coloration' from my boutique mic preamp by having to turn up its gain to compensate the pad?
@loudandclearmedia9 ай бұрын
Interesting points of view about over-booming vs under-booming. Riddle me this: An interviewee is wearing a baseball cap. Would you still over-boom that subject as a first option, or does the bill of the hat being between the mouth and the microphone mean under-booming is now more preferable?
@SoundSpeeds9 ай бұрын
You still overhead boom but need to fly the microphone more in front of the talent and angle back.

Regarding spinning off one's content into various different channels. One issue is monetization. It requires a lot (for small-timers) to get monetized. Trying to get several channels monetized is more work, and could arguably take longer than putting all your videos into one place. E.g. if I have a cooking video and a gaming video. Making two separate, appropriately themed channels for them results in getting 1000 views each. So a total of 2000 views, and 1000 per channel. If I put them both on the same channel, they get 750 views each. That's a total of 1500 views, so 25% less. But that's 1500 views for a single channel, which is more than any single channel received. So you're closer to reaching monetization that way, if that's your goal. The above numbers were just made up, but that's often how I think, and I'm sure there are others who think similarly.

I deleted 100 old videos. Was gutted when I saw that this messes you up, but it is also annoying to have unlisted videos clogging up your inventory.
@imark77777778 ай бұрын
Personally I prefer unlisted videos. The number of videos in my watch later list that I have just vanished is so annoying! And KZbin and even tell me anything about them like the creator the channel the description title nothing it'll tell me videos have been removed and that's it. There's also some stuff like the public watches which could be historical with all the amount of information that's getting deleted on the Internet these days. Concept I don't see used very much is leaving the original video and trimming it although the KZbin editor is a pain. Although if that's happened I hope somebody put some thing in the description. I just spent the last week trying to find a video that I don't think I'm going to find on another channel. And this is not the first time I've done this. Although occasionally bring some interesting videos to Lite like this one off the recommendations.
