I can't appreciate enough Tom's willingness to put a game that looks like mine onto KZbin for the world to see. It's actually a lot more helpful to me to watch someone whose game is like mine manage the course (and mishits) than watching people who hit consistently. More Tom!!

Sound of toms breathing was unbearable, great video but the audio was so bad

I like how the sound engineer has the volume way up on Tom Clarke but you barely hear anything Paul McGinley says! It seems like editors at Golf Monthly would take their KZbin videos more seriously.

Great to listen to a pro explaining the thought process for an 18 hcap as we all sometimes think we can get out the trouble or miss trouble like a pro. My first lesson to Tom would be get fitter. Im not being judgemental but he was so out of breath (maybe nerves) that it must make hitting each shot like we all feel on 1st tee with everybody watching and your heart thumping

I definitely could see the value in playing some holes with a pro. Just getting course and strategy insights is with worth your money.

I am an 18 handicapper and even if this good fellow had nerves, he definitely doesn't play like an 18 handicapper.
@jjh004 жыл бұрын
What a great opportunity. Tom was definitely letting his nerves get the better of him though. That would have been a lot of pressure.

Pro Production Tip (For Normal Video Production Crews) Mic up Paul McGinley. Why is he not wearing a lav mic too? If you only had one, which you didn't because the host had on one, Paul should have been instead of the amateur. At least you have good sound quality nats of him breathing and "um-huhs ."

18 handicapper.. with all due respect, not from where I come from! For sure he had nerves out on the course, but the putting stance 4:01 says it all.

No offense to anyone, but if that guy is an 18 handicapper, I'm about a 5. Hint: I'm definitely not a 5.

Can you recommend somewhere in the south of England to get custom fit? Are trackmans inside good enough for best results?? Also does anywhere have outdoor wedge fitting?

Lucky Tom to play Wentworth and to have guidance from Paul McGinley.

I think the problem is that this guy has absolutely no game, no drive no approach no short game. Better to do this with someone just breaking 80 to take them to the next level of course management

Worst advice I've ever witnessed. If you can't reach the green- LAY UP TO A YARDAGE for a club that you are good with. He put a 5 wood in his hand and he ended up in the rough with a terrible lie and an awkward distance. He screwed the hole up for him! Better to stay in the fairway with a confident club in your hand- Why bring all the hazards into play?

Everyone slagging the bloke off, yet he was probably shitting himself playing with Paul. Christ my arse goes 5p 10p standing on the first tee in a medal let alone playing with legend of the game.

Tom should do some mindfulness training, this would calm him down and relax his breathing so he is able to concentrate on playing a good shot.

I disagree with him on the first hole. He would have been much better off with a mid-iron on his 2nd shot.

I don't mean to be negative but that's some terrible advice. The closer the better. If he's not making it in 2 then a yardage he's happy to hit would have been the better option. Ends up with a triple after a decent drive in the fairway.

Yep. That opening par 5 advice was not for a 18er. Lay up and play for bogey, par if you’re lucky on approach or putt.

Not sure why he’s playing wentworth... it’s clearly not an easy course, perhaps practice at the range/pitch and putt before playing an elite level course. Just saying
