Agree to disagree. Regular survival mode is boring with no challenge. The game objectively is very easy after a certain point with most players ignoring all creatures.

Expert mode is for sure needed. Permadeath modes for survival games bring more to it. Survival isnt survival without a reason to stay alive other than dropping your loot. Tougher missions instead of a tougher mode also wont bring new players.

​@@CraftyLEGOFortnite I disagree, they should make enemies harder in general, leave the cozy mode for people who want to chill or little kids and then expert for really hardcore people. I don't want to invest hours into a world that I can easily loose for making one mistake. I want the survival mode but harder, it's not that hard. More enemy variants in survival, more different enemies, new villages, new npc's. This update falls short to me because I don't enjoy the stressful feeling of thinking "if I die, that's it for this world"

They should offer new free builds for reaching level 10 villages in expert mode. Otherwise there is no real incentive to start over in a more challenging world with high risk of losing everything.

I hope you read this comment so that you can pass the message to Epic (maybe?) cause I feel lots of people feel the way I feel. I'm going to try explaining why this update it's not what I was expecting. Just constructive criticism :) Hardcore experience is a more stressful experience, because of the fact that if you die, you die. The game is not very hard, but there are some critical moments, such as when facing brutes, going into mines or finding star war's death troopers. There are several glitches as well that can easily ruin your experience. This can easily get frustrated. Don't get me wrong, I agree we should have this game mode, but they are not focusing on what they should be. I've been playing Lego fortnite alongside other games for the last 2 months (I abandoned the game for lack of content), I made several themed villages, I enjoyed a lot of the survival mode. It is lego's fortnite main game mode, and the barely added anything since they made it. I was hoping for more content to add to my world, more enemy varieties, better rewards for defeating them, new materials, new villages, new villagers, new tools, new biomes, even hostile villages (a black falcon castle full of enemies that required some sigile for example). They did add more enemy varieties, but just for this new mode. It doesn't make sense to me. Why not add those to survival worlds as well? Even if I have to create a new world to access new content (which shouldn't be the case), I don't want that new content to be locked behind a game mode where if you die you loose everything. I'd love it if I could create a world in expert mode where I can activate spawning back. I want them to add more, much more, to survival. The star wars expansion was perfect, it added tons of hours for me, I had to level up the battle pass, I build two new themed villages, one rebel, one empire, another one in the dessert... I want more of that, but not every 7 months

@@CraftyLEGOFortnite I'm not trying to hate on it, I simply know I won't end up liking it. I have already tried minecraft's Hardcore and didn't quite enjoyed it. If I want to stress myself I will play a competitive multi-player. I'm not saying this is not a good update, but I think it is not what the majority of people wanted I will try it though, but again, I think epic should focus on adding more updates similar to the star wars update :) it was a great success and I don't know if this update will be as successful as the other one was. Again, don't take me for a hater, I love the game. I really hope I can select expert mode and turn on spawning back. That would be really sweet

More quests, biomes, etc. Star wars was great at first but kind of a let down with no part two given the amount of time the event is occurring. It's not a matter of "crying" or "hating". A lot of us just don't see how starting yet another world in which if you die once all progress is gone really adds what we want and expected out of the update. The game has gotten stale and just adding a new game mode is not the cure.

Not sure I'll be making an Expert world. I don't want to have to start a new world to be able to play the new content, but didn't want that difficulty setting in my current world either, TBH. It's fine, though. This was more of "content creator's" update. Not an update for chill players. Adding more to the regular world as well as adding the new modes would have been the better player base experience, but I get it. I have a custom world with cool stuff in it, and I have no intentions of "starting from scratch" in an extra hard mode with the opportunity to lose it all if the game glitches me while gliding or something stupid. I'll hold out until the next update, this one isn't really for me. I'll grab some new Lego sets if they drop some though. :) Cheers! 😁

The problem with the expert stuff is that we have to make a new world. We can't really do that since a lot of people already have way too much time in their main world.

I need both because I play with my 3 year old grandson. Obviously he will play in the regular old survival mode. He has been playing since he turned 2. I'm sure he is not the only toddler playing. So making an expert version seperate is useful.

I think i speak for some, but the reason we all cry out for new content and dont like this update is because it isn't what we have asked. The star wars update was new content, letting us use our current worlds, gave us new sets and items, and even had us make a village with missions. Sure the expert mode is nice for people who want a challenge but youre doing the same grind going after the same goals of stock up, build, and dont die. The trophies are nice and all, but it's not a real incentive nor is it enough. I dislike the idea of making a new world for the same grind but if they let us have that in our current worlds I'm sure a lot of us wouldn't be so upset with how the update is.

Sure the devs are not meant to cater to every one of our desires but it's one thing to only cater for a small group of people who wouldn't mind the same grind and want an increase in difficulty. I'm not trying to persuade you this update won't be well but simply that it's a let down they're not giving the people with months spent building up their worlds, the casuals, and others separate from the target audience anything new

The people complaining don't realize that if this were to be a content update, such as Part 2 to Star Wars, that you'd only be getting at maximum 6 hours of gameplay grind time. And once you complete that, you're asking for more content because you're bored. This new mode erases that completely.

@CraftyLEGOFortnite and that's true, a lot of people were complaining a month after it's release, I'll give you that. However, as I just mentioned, this new mode is simply the same thing but harder. So many people don't want to redo that because it's boring, having to grind back up everything we've spent months doing, restocking, rebuilding, and much more. Again, the trophies are nice and all but they should've add more to it

To me the star wars update gave me a lot more than 6 hours of gameplay, I think it is what they should aim for. I play this game in a chill way, to relax myself, just the way I play minecraft. I don't understand, is it really hard for devs to release the storm thing and the infected animals in the current world? I thought their engine allowed them to do things like that

It's a video game. Have you never re-read a book, or re-watched a TV show or movie? You never replayed a video game? Mister one-and-done gamer over here probably hates games with multiple endings. Great audio! Maybe you could add in the next one, the best ways to build your base for defense? Skeletons coming in could actually be pretty dangerous if they're the storm version, and I'm kinda hoping that'll be a big challenge in Expert mode. *Ideas for secure bases:* Building on top of something, like a mesa in the desert. Building a wall around the base. Building a multi-layered base. Your bed and everything else that's important is up high, while the village totem and villagers are down below to fight any skeletons that attack.

The only new thing about this update is they gave us new fences which is actually nice I'm not going to attempt expert mode because I'm not good at fighting the monsters I might check out cozy mode but I am loving the fact that every time I go into a lava cave in the Star wars world I get tons of rubies now.

It's actually kinda sad how much people are hating on this new game mode, you can have 2 worlds, your original and an expert for when your feeling bored / game being too easy, they even added charms so you don't have to lose the world, granted i wish they'd add a charm slot dedicated to holding that specific charm so it dont take away from our triple regen, 2 tempature 1 regen charm combos, i feel like if they did that and maybe lowered the cost to make the charms from 50 to 30. I believe it would be better and players could be happier with it.

@@CraftyLEGOFortnite after doing more research into it, i can see why alot of players dislike it / won't give it a chance, they remove defense in the hardest difficulty, they take up a third charm slot after doing so when we really need our health charms cuz no defense, and the villagers we bring with us go back to base instead of being with us when they die.... i feel like if theyd just add a charm slot thats made specifically for these return charms so we can keep our 3, and made it so we could keep our villagers adventuring with us... players would actually like it more and give it more of a chance, but id like to know your thoughts on this crafty

I played it for 7 hours straight and I'm only halfway done towards getting all 3 trophies. I don't see how anybody could be upset about this update when we weren't supposed to get another content update until Klombo in July. I noticed the tip about using the triple damage pickaxe followed by the triple luck pickaxe... does this mean that the lightsaber will no longer work with the triple luck pickaxe?

Hey Crafty, Thanks again for this great video, good tips. I've been looking at my maps and I've created a creative world, to know where I'm going to build. In the end I decided to replay the same bunker that I have on one of my worlds that I also have a couple of videos about it on my channel. What I hadn't thought about was the rebel cave. I would have missed it if you hadn't mentioned it. Anyway, I think it's very strong that if you die you lose the whole world. I have died several times just from falls for lack of energy, or just doing a construction. This is going to be a challenge. If I get my snow biome in 10, I'd like to invite you to visit my world.

Villagers only give Green bait buckets which can not be upgraded. You have to make your own grey bait bucket to be able to use it to make a blue or purple one.

Hopefully the new storm enemies are like regular enemies that has pattern when attacking. like using shield and dodge when they are attacking to avoid damage, but I want a much dificult challenge like brute attacks are unpredictable and has no pattern, So excited on what expert mode can give us!

Immortal is already in the game, we just tested it in the discord, it essentially stops you from dying one time

I feel the expert mode is good to actually test your skill in the game. Even though some might lose the world, but with 1 life, all the time you put in is gonna make you to be more careful. Also to cherish your world. People should watch hardcore minecraft and see how those creators play, they're more careful at what they do and they utilize their villagers.

I got a tip myself and that is to go and try to defeat one of the star wars caves to make it into a full on fallout style bunker sinds there won't be any enimies spawning in the cave

In my Lego world the spawn is super flat which is perfect for building. I have a pretty big village there

Thank you it happened a very long time ago in my friends world that made me stop playing lego for a long time more just of being in that world of playing. I explored the whole world almost I just had a little bit more to go then that happened. I reported to lego fortnite and they send me a link to report it on fortnite which I've done all of that. I've also did tricks and stuff to get it. I even had a friend try to get it and the failed aswell. It use to be way better years ago to report stuff on fortnite and there respond time was magnificent back then I reported so much stuff it ran smoothly. Now it's like who are you sorry we can not do that we don't have the ability to do that sadly.

Only if you begin a new world and flip the option, won't be added to existing worlds which were built with the original options, and you can't edit existing world options.

This expert mode is not for me since i always die fighting or running away from frost wolves, frost rollers etc. The frost biome is the hardest one for me since the level of mobs there is high compared to the other mobs. So i think im sticking to my current world than try to venture out to this new type of difficulty, like what you said this is also catering for new players in Lego FN. Im happy with my current world so im sticking with it.

I have not found a higher rarity chance with different rods / bait buckets. The higher qual rod just has a better durability. The higher qual buckets allow for more pulls before it disappears. Better luck for a legendary fish.. haven't noticed that 🤔 Looking forward to the update but in doubt if I want to start a new world or not >.< Grinding all over from start, again.. doesn't sound too appealing x'D

Cool Headed charms in the dry valley caves, or 3x regeneration charms are always the best

Stay back and only engage a few mobs at a time, or shoot them from above with the guns from the first few. They don't run all the way up to get you if you're far enough away. If you "Leeroy Jenkins" in then you'll definitely die.

We did need an expert mode. The game is too boring, too slow, and too easy. We absolutely needed it. The video showing the update has a 95% Like to Dislike ratio, and the comments are heavily in favor of the update. A few rotten apples don't spoil the bunch.

Have two cows, one making a spicy burgers, one making you snowberry shakes focus on getting regeneration charms that will be your best chance for survival you go into the Frost lands. Bring the burgers if you go into the desert, bring the shakes progress the Star Wars village to at least level five to get the free light saber, use that in correspondence with your harvesting tools to increase their durability so you don’t have to go on long expeditions to get resources in case a storm sick creature spawns everything else is standard trick of brute into smashing some frost pine so you can make an extremely durable vehicle to get you around the world fast so you can get away from some of these enemies. I have the perfect cheap vehicle to build I call it the hot rod.

Not the best update don’t know the point of grinding before the update if you need to create a new world. Expert is not for me. I wanted stuff for my main world I don’t wanna start all the way over again. There is absolutely NO WAY IM GONNA BUILD A BRIDGE ALL THE WAY TO THE STAR WARS ISLAND JUST SO THAT I CAN BRING MY VEHICLES THERE!!! I’m happy that your gonna have a blast playing this but for me simply no. I’m probably never gonna start all the way over again. I have put over I think maybe a 7 to 8 hundred hours into that world with many villages crazy super cars all the rarest villagers insane Star Wars villages multiple chests filled with iron,ruby,sapphire many planes and also custom builds. I’m not gonna spend another 800 to 1000 hours playing the game again since school also started again for me so I don’t have a lot of time to play. Still new stuff so cool

Majority of the people happy with this update are content creators for the purpose of putting out any new content. But if you are someone who has put a lot of time and work putting builds into your current existing world then this update is not as exciting.
