Used many DAWs in 23 years, and so far using Pro tools is the most helpful for workflow among the others I've used, including Cubase.

Thank you. I have used Pro Tools off and on since 2006 as I taught Radio Editing at a college. There were items in this tutorial that I have never used or knew about.

Great Video! You are not assuming that people come here and prior knowledge and taking the time to go through basics. As a user who moves from Logic Pro to Pro Tools, this helps a lot!

Hey thanks, friend! I’m going to be making a lot more of these types of videos. I’ve been seeing a lot more folks switching to Pro Tools like yourself. Thanks for the feedback!

I cannot thank you enough for this video session. It is like the light has finally come on for me. I have wanted to understand Pro Tools for years and just always got so frustrated that I would give up. But for some reason I am understanding it now. Thank you! On to part 2!

@@emily_bowie Thank You Emily! I'm still navigating around the Pro Tools system. I was able to lay down a guitar track tonight. Then adjust the waveform so I could see it better. I have so much to learn. But I feel more confident now. Cheers!

Great videos, well explained and thorough! I’ve been using pro tools for a number of years and have learned so many helpful tips from your vids. One thing I didn’t see, and this is a beginner mistake - when you add a new audio track to a session, name it… right away, before recording anything on it. If you change the track name after, the takes don’t follow the name change. Not impossible to fix but time consuming and much like untangling wires after a messy setup 🫤😉

@@jae6220 I have one that focuses on vocals and a masterclass that covers how I mix entire sessions from start to finish. They both come with my mixing template and practice multitracks. I have all the information on my website www.fairairmusic.com under the Products tab.

Hey Emily .... So basically you jumped from the page where you literally created the name of the "song"/project and the route to save it . . . . to completely skip the building of tracks, I/O, MIDI vs Instruments (etc), and so on. So you went from "Pro Tools Basics Part 1" to some other level that has to do with "importing tracks" and "navigation features". Shuffle mode, moving tracks, etc. is obviously important and great but a person using Pro Tools Basics Part 1 would expect to learn how to set up the program in order to record sounds from different sources, i.e. a MIDI keyboard, Pro Tools onboard library, etc. You just skipped right past all that. Why?! Do you come back to that part of the setup at some other point down the line?
